6 FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: Strong storms possible Saturday
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Saturday is a 6 First Alert Weather Day. Storm chances are increasing for the afternoon and evening and the severe weather threat is spreading east, now including more of the Omaha Metro.
With many enjoying time outdoors for the Fourth of July weekend, you’ll have to stay weather aware! Have a way to get warnings and find shelter if you are out camping.
The storms move in from the W after 1PM and will exit W Iowa after 8PM. The most likely timing for the Metro is from 3-6PM.
The main storm threats will be wind and hail, tornadoes are unlikely. Hail up to 2″ will be possible with gusts as high as 60mph. Flash flooding cannot be ruled out in isolated areas but the storms will be on the move so the threat will not be widespread.
