6 First Alert Forecast - Calmer start to the week with more heat on the horizon
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Spotty storms over the weekend brought severe weather to some parts of the area.
The good news is that much calmer weather will be with us as we go through our Monday.
Aside from some scattered cumulus clouds this afternoon, sunshine will dominate the day.
Highs will top out in the low to mid 80s with reasonable mugginess levels for July.
Overall, it will be a pretty nice day for this time of year!
Similar conditions will be with us Tuesday with a little more cloud cover by Wednesday.
By Wednesday afternoon, some spotty storms will become possible through the area.
At this point, the severe risk looks low.
Beyond that, the story becomes climbing temperatures and increasing mugginess.
By Saturday, highs will be in the low 90s with a heat index over 100 degrees.
The spell of potentially dangerous heat and humidity looks to last into the beginning of next week, possibly improving by Tuesday or Wednesday.
