OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Keisei Tominaga is headed to Paris.

The former Husker made the 12-man Olympic roster for the Japanese National Team, it was announced Monday morning. He will compete for gold alongside NBA talents Rui Hachimura and Yuta Watanabe.

Paris will mark Tominaga’s second Olympic Games. He played for Japan in the 3X3 basketball event in the 2020 Toyko Olympics.

Former Husker men’s basketball standout Keisei Tominaga became the second Nebraska men’s basketball player selected to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Tominaga was widely expected to make the 5x5 team after helping Japan qualify for the Paris Games at the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He averaged 11.4 points per game in the 5-game event, while shooting 38% from three-point range.

He recently signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Indiana Pacers, giving him a chance to earn a spot on an NBA roster in preseason training camp later this summer.

The All-Big Ten guard led the Huskers with 15.1 points per game last season, shooting 37.6% from three-point range.

Tominaga is the second Nebraska basketball alum competing in the 2024 Olympics, joining Jack McVeigh, who will play for Australia. Former Husker Tyronn Lue will also serve as an assistant coach for Team USA.
