Former Bluejays Trey Alexander and Baylor Scheierman make splash in NBA Summer League debuts

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (WOWT) - From Omaha to Las Vegas, former Creighton guards Baylor Scheierman and Trey Alexander made their professional basketball debuts on their respective NBA teams this weekend.

Saturday, Scheierman started in Boston’s first Summer League game against the Miami Heat. The Aurora, Nebraska native went 0-for-3 in the first quarter before making a mid-range jumper in the lane for his first points as a Celtic early in the second quarter. In the third quarter, the first-round draft pick finally knocked down his first triple to bring Boston within three, 61-59. In just 24 minutes on the floor, Scheierman tallied 13 points, five rebounds, six assists, and one steal. Boston ended up falling to Miami, 119-114.

Late Friday night, Trey Alexander took the floor with the Denver Nuggets. Coming off the bench, Alexander recorded 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in the Nuggets’ loss to the Clippers, 88-78.

The Nuggets are back in action in Las Vegas on Sunday, taking on Toronto at 8:30 p.m. CT on NBA TV and ESPN+.

The Celtics return to the hardwood on Monday, playing the Lakers in the night cap at 9:30 p.m. on NBA TV and ESPN+.
