6 FIRST ALERT: Intense heat followed by a spotty storm
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - It’s another muggy start to a hot and humid day for us all. Temps in the 70s will quickly warm this morning after sunrise and we should be well into the 90s by lunch. That is why it is a 6 First Alert Weather Day for the final day of this 3 day heat wave.
The extra aspect to this 6 First Alert Weather Day will be the storm chance that arrives after 4pm thanks to a cold front. There won’t be many on the map and the greatest chances will be on the Iowa side but a couple could be strong to severe. If they do develop, wind gusts will be the main threat and they should be east and out of the area by 8pm or so. They are likely to intensify as they move east as well.
A spotty weaker storm or two is still possible overnight as well but they likely won’t be widespread. Those chances likely continue into Tuesday but again aren’t all that great. Most of us will stay dry with the storm chances we have in the forecast both Tuesday & Wednesday.
Comfortable weather will continue for the rest of the week into the coming weekend too!
