11-year-old injured after being hit by car in west Omaha has died, police say

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The 11-year-old who was injured after being struck by an SUV while riding her scooter in west Omaha last week has died.
Omaha Police announced Monday night that the female victim in last week’s crash near 102nd and Grant Street succumbed to her injuries.
Officers and medical personnel responded to the incident just before 4 p.m. Thursday and the girl was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Investigators learned that a 2013 Jeep Compass was traveling northbound on 102nd Street when it struck the girl, who had ridden her scooter into the roadway from an adjacent driveway. Police said Monday the investigation remains ongoing, though.
