6 First Alert Forecast - Cooler with a few storms Tuesday
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Slightly cooler and less humid air will filter in overnight, allowing temperatures to drop off into the mid and upper 60s by morning. More clouds are expected on Tuesday along with a northwest breeze. That will help to keep us 5 to 10 degree cooler than the past few days. Afternoon highs should top out in the mid-80s, around 85 degrees for the Omaha metro.
Some spotty storms are possible in the afternoon and evening as a secondary cold front moves through the area Tuesday afternoon and evening. Rain is not expected to be widespread, but a couple of spotty downpours are possible especially with the evening storms.
A strong storm or two can’t be ruled out, especially to the west of Omaha over central Nebraska. Storm chances end after 10PM.
After Tuesday’s rain chance, generally dry weather is expected for the rest of the week. Wednesday looks beautiful with highs in the low 80s and low humidity.
It will be more comfortable as well, as high temperatures fall into the low and mid-80s through at least the upcoming weekend. Our next chance for rain enters the forecast late Friday into the weekend, with scattered showers or storms possible for both Saturday and Sunday. The rain will help to keep the mild temperatures around into early next week.
