Police identify 11-year-old killed after being hit by car in west Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Police have identified the child killed after being struck by an SUV while riding her scooter in west Omaha last week.
According to Omaha Police, 11-year-old Alayna Fitch was the victim of Thursday’s crash near 102nd and Grant Street.
According to investigators, Fitch was killed when a 2013 Jeep Compass was traveling northbound on 102nd Street when it struck her, after she had ridden her scooter into the roadway from an adjacent driveway.
Fitch was transported to Nebraska Medicine in critical condition, where she later died Monday. Police said Tuesday the investigation remains ongoing.
