David’s Evening Forecast - Patchy fog tonight, a few more showers Sunday
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Spotty showers and some patchy drizzle continued across the area this afternoon, though rainfall has remained light and most areas have stayed dry. A few scattered storms popped up near Norfolk and Columbus with some heavier downpours. Those storms will drift to the south and west, staying well to the west of the Omaha metro. The downpours may continue through 7pm or so around Norfolk and Columbus. Otherwise, calm winds with temperatures in the low 70s and upper 60s will stick around for the evening hours.
Clouds will try to thin out overnight, allowing temperatures to fall off into the lower 60s. This could lead to some patchy fog developing by early Sunday morning. While most of the night should be dry, a spotty shower still can’t be ruled out. The chance for a couple of spotty showers will continue into Sunday. Though just like Saturday, most of the area likely won’t see much in the way of rainfall. Temperatures will be a little warmer as we should see a bit more sunshine in the afternoon. That will help to push high temperatures up to around 80 degrees by early evening.
The chance for a shower or two will continue on Monday, with perhaps an isolated thunderstorm popping up in the afternoon. Just like Sunday, the rain will not be widespread, however there will likely be rain in the area. It’s just hard to say exactly where that rain will be. Temperatures should be another degree or two warmer for Monday and Tuesday as a slow warming trend kicks in.
Drier weather is expected by Wednesday as sunny skies return. As the sunny and dry weather moves in, so will warmer conditions. Highs should reach the mid-80s on Wednesday and Thursday, topping out around 90 by Friday. High temperatures in the mid-90s can be expected by next weekend as some more typical July heat and humidity starts to settle back in.
