Emily’s 6 First Alert Forecast - Stretch of 90s continues into the weekend
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Our stretch of hot days continues... highs once again reached into the 90s and that is where they will stay for the foreseeable future. The smoke that we’ve been dealing with lately will thankfully improve, however.
As a ridge that is currently pulling in smoke from the Canadian and west coast wild fires moves E over the weekend this will likely help to thin out some of the smoke and push the worst of it to our N and E.
Friday will be another hot and smoky day with a high of 93 expected.
A the ridge moves E the forecast also heats up. The most intense heat begins Monday, we’ve made it a 6 First Alert Weather Day as a string of 95 degree or hotter days begins.
Rain chances are not promising but with some storm chances nearby Sunday evening this will keep the worst of the heat at bay for one more day... spotty rain chances continue into Wednesday and we will feel more humid and the heat index will near 115!
The heat peaks around Wednesday as we near 100 in Omaha... a slow cool down to the low 90s by the following weekend.
