OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Very warm and humid conditions remain in place across the area for most of Saturday. A few clouds bubbling up in the afternoon helped to keep temperatures from getting too hot, with most areas topping out in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. However, with the humidity, heat index readings were between 93 and 95 degrees for the late afternoon and early evening. Clouds should thin this evening, with temperatures remain in the mid and upper 80s through late evening. Mainly clear skies, mild temperatures, and humid conditions can be expected overnight as lows dip into the lower 70s after Midnight.

Sunday will bring another hot and humid day. If you have plans to get outdoors, try to get out during the morning hours when temperatures are in the 70s or 80s. With plenty of morning sun, temperatures should climb into the mid or upper 80s by the lunch hour. There is a small chance for a spotty storm late morning into the early afternoon, but any rain looks to be very isolate, and most likely will not see rain. Temperatures by the afternoon should reach the upper 80s and low 90s outside of any spotty storms.

There is another chance for some spotty storms Sunday night into Monday, however the coverage looks relatively limited once again. Don’t count on the rain to keep your yard watered as we head into the hottest stretch of this heat wave. Depending on the coverage of that rain Monday morning, some areas could actually be a bit cooler on Monday, however at this point it’s best to anticipate the more intense heat arriving Monday afternoon as highs climb into the mid-90s.
