6 First Alert: Clearing Wednesday night after a round of severe storms
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A strong line of storms has moved out of the viewing area leaving behind reports of tree damage, power outages and property damage. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been cleared for most of our counties... Top gusts of around 70-90mph have been reported near Lincoln, around the Omaha Metro nd surrounding communities.
Behind this main round we may see some lingering storms that will die down around 11PM. The severe risk is lower with these but not zero with the best chances S of I-80.
We’ll cool off behind this round of storms and drop to the upper 80s and low 90s Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Enjoy!
The heat index climbs early next week as we reach back into the upper 90s Monday! This will be short lived with a longer and more noticeable cool down to the 80s to end the 10 day forecast.
