6 First Alert Forecast - A warm but quiet end to the week
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Following intense storms last night, this evening will be much more calm. Highs will climb to near 90 degrees with sunny skies and a light north breeze.
Clear skies and calm winds will allow temperatures to drop into the mid 60s by early Friday morning and may help out with the lack of air conditioning for many.
Humidity has lowered a bit compared to earlier this week as well, making it feel a little more comfortable. Dew points will stay in the muggy range through the rest of the day.
Friday will be off to a refreshing start with sunshine and temperatures in the mid 60s in the morning. Temperatures will quickly heat up after that, reaching the low 90s by the afternoon with clear skies and a light north breeze.
Saturday will feel very similar to Friday and maybe even a tad less humid. It will definitely be the pick day of the weekend to get outdoors, because intense heat will return by the end of the weekend! Highs on Sunday will likely reach all the way into the mid to upper 90s.
Thankfully, as we go into the weekend and early next week the dew points won’t reach too high on the muggy meter. That will keep the heat index somewhat close to the air temperature into early next week. With less humidity, this will make conditions a little less uncomfortable when highs climb into the upper 90s on Sunday and Monday.
Following the intense heat to start off next week, we’ll get a break from the hot temperatures by Tuesday. Conditions will remain dry all the way until next Wednesday evening. After that, we’ll be tracking storm chances all the way into next weekend.
