OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The severe weather threat has ended for E Nebraska and W Iowa but flooding concerns persist as heavy rain moves E. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING runs until 2:30AM for parts of the Metro due to rapid and heavy rain amounts.

A FLOOD WATCH is in place for several counties that saw heavy rain with our early morning round of storms. More heavy downpours tonight are leading to an increased concern for flooding. Heavy rain will likely fall in the Metro through 11PM leading to flooding in areas with drainage issues. Turn around, don’t drown... do not attempt to drive through flooded roads.

Storms will likely be in W Iowa and out of the Nebraska side of the viewing area by 11:30PM and will carry the heavy rain threat with them...

After midnight drier weather settles in and we are expecting a calm overnight forecast.

Another warm day in the 80s is likely Thursday and we could see a few more spotty showers and storms in the PM hours. Those look weaker and shouldn’t have a huge impact.

Friday is trending dry and warm and so is most of the weekend.
