David’s Morning Forecast - Great Saturday forecast
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A comfortable start to Saturday with a few clouds drifting by. Temperatures cooled into the mid-60s around the metro thanks to generally clear skies. Plenty of sun is expected through the rest of day day, just a few patches of clouds moving through at times. That means temperatures will warm quickly, climbing into the upper 70s by Noon, with afternoon highs in the mid-80s. We should top out around 85 degrees in the metro. A light north breeze of 5 to 10mph will help to keep the humidity from getting too high, though it will be noticeable this afternoon.
The quiet weather will continue into the evening, with temperatures in the mid-80s. We’ll drop back to the mid-70s by 10pm with generally clear skies. Overnight temperatures should fall into the mid-60s once again. Clouds will be on the increase heading into Sunday. A pocket of showers and thunderstorms dropping in from South Dakota during the morning hours will likely slide into parts of eastern Nebraska to start Sunday. Most of the rain likely holds just off to the west and southwest of Omaha, but areas around Columbus and Norfolk, and perhaps even Lincoln could see a few showers or storms. The increase in clouds will keep it a little cooler, with highs in the lower 80s.
Sunshine returns on Monday with highs climbing back into the mid-80s. Our next rain chance arrives Tuesday into Wednesday, but the overall coverage looks limited at this time. Temperatures should hold in the low and mi-80s through the middle of the week, but we’ll be heating up toward the end of the week with mostly sunny skies. A little more summer heat is possible by next weekend as highs climb back to around 90 degrees.
