LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) -Senior forward Sarah Weber had a three-goal day as she led Nebraska to a win over Colorado State, 3-2. The Grenta product’s hat trick Sunday afternoon is only the 35th in program history and the first at Hibner Stadium since 2018.

After her first, second, and third goals of the season, Weber has 35 career goals, tying her for 10th most in Husker history.

“It was definitely a breath of fresh air, I think everyone on our team kind of relaxed after that like ‘okay we are in a good spot,’” said Weber. “That was kind of the position we were in a lot last year so we definitely know how to handle that. And yeah game management is huge the next five minutes and we responded right away which was good. We are definitely a very gritty team too who likes to have fun and I think you saw that if you were watching.”

With the win, Nebraska improves to 1-0-1 on the season. The Huskers return to the pitch Thursday when they host Duke.
