Rusty’s First Alert Forecast - Intense heat again Monday, cooler to end the week
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - It’s been a struggle to cool off as we head into the morning hours today with most of us waking up to 70s out the door. It will be another hot and humid day with temps topping out in the upper 90s and heat index values in the 105-110 range. This will be the second and final day of this 2 day heat wave.
Dew point may be a bit lower on the muggy meter today but overall it will still be hot and humid.
Some showers and a few storms are possible Tuesday morning and afternoon with overall more clouds in place. That should help keep us closer to 90 degrees for the high. I don’t expect widespread rain on the map and the severe threat is low too.
A round of rain and storms is looking more and more likely Thursday afternoon and evening that should help bring an end to this round of 90s. As of now the severe threat doesn’t look all that great but storms could be widespread.
As of now it looks like it will be warm but not overall hot and humid for that first Husker game in Lincoln. Upper 80s can get a little warm among the concrete of Memorial Stadium so be sure to stay hydrated there.
