Creekside campground bustling with pre-Fourth of July activities

JOPLIN, Mo. — Families kicked off the Fourth of July week by basking in the sun.

Families were tubing, fishing, tanning, and spending quality time at Zan’s Creekside Campground in Joplin.

Zan’s Creekside co-owner John Edmonds says in years past this has been a busy season for the campground.

The Williams were just one of the families getting a head start on their Fourth of July plans.

“My husband and my kids are my world, so being able to get out here away from work and just relax and enjoy life together, it’s the best thing that could happen,” said Blake and Felicity Williams, family time at the Creekside.

“Previous Fourth of July’s have been pretty spectacular down here. Between us and the people on the other side of the creek, lighting off fireworks, it’s like a three-hour grand finale last year, it was wonderful. But can’t tell you what’s gonna happen this year,” said John Edmonds, Zan’s Creekside Campground co-owner.

The Williams family plans to spend the third and Fourth of July barbecuing and celebrating with family.
