Claudia B., Mara Justine

It was night five of the Battles on season 24 of The Voice and once again coaches Reba McEntire, John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Niall Horan had the difficult task of matching up their teammates for the Battles before deciding who was moving on to the three-way Knockouts and who they were sending home.

Of course, there were still two Steals remaining in play. Gwen has used both of hers for Tanner Massey from Team Niall and CORii from Team Reba, Reba used her two Steals to get Jacquie Roar from Team Gwen on her team and the other for Elizabeth Evans from Team Legend, John used his to land Mac Royals from Team Reba, and Niall used one of his to Steal Azán from Team Legend. That means that John and Niall each have one Steal left for Monday night’s final night of Battles.

Battle Round 1: Dylan Carter vs Tom Nitti from Team Reba

Song: "'Til You Can't" by Cody Johnson

Winner: Tom Nitti

Reba said: “Dylan and Tom could be the next Brooks & Dunn. They are so talented but I had to choose Tom because he has continued to impress me. I love his soul country. It just made my heart feel good.”

Battle Round 2: Olivia Minogue vs Laura Williams from Team Niall

Song: “Ghost” by Justin Bieber

Winner: Olivia Minogue

Niall said: “Olivia’s growth between the Battles and the Blinds has been amazing, so I am so excited to see what she does in the three-way Knockouts. I have one Steal left but I am being very selective because Team Niall is so strong.”

Battle Round 3: Eli Ward vs Jason Arcilla from Team Gwen

Song: “Make it With You” by Bread

Winner: Jason Arcilla

Gwen said: “Jason has this kind of voice that has this breathy, airy, serene quality that I would actually listen to on a record. I think he’s really gifted. He is an understated singer compared to some of the people on here that can do vocal acrobatics. I’m going to have to be strategic with picking songs that highlight his tone and what he can do.”

Battle Round 4: Mara Justin vs Claudia B from Team Legend

Song: “Son of a Preacher Man” by Dusty Springfield

Winner: Mara Justin

John said: “Both of these artists did what they do best. This was a tough choice because Claudia did nothing wrong. She sounded so great. She had such a great tone. But Mara had just a little more edge. I can see her doing really well as she advances to future rounds.”

Steal: Claudia B

Niall said, “You’re not going anywhere. I love how pure Claudia’s voice is. No way I was ever letting Claudia go home. She’s going to fit right in on Team Niall."

The Battles will wrap up next Monday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT when The Voice returns to NBC.
