Why do I need this? 🤔

While many of the features are the same as the previous iteration, almost all of them have been improved. For example, you can stream live video for up to 90 minutes at a time through the Blink Subscription Plan. The camera also comes with a wider field of view than its previous version, has a built-in spotlight for color night vision and so much more.

One of the most surprising new features is that this camera works outside too — all you need is the Blink Weather-Resistant Power Adapter. When was the last time you were able to get an outdoor security camera for just $20?

There's also two-way audio, which lets you speak to anyone — even a misbehaving pet — on the other side. And if you have a Blink Video Doorbell, the camera can act as a chime when someone comes to the door. The one thing to be aware of is that if you have the Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Mount, it only works with the first edition version of these cameras, not the new ones.

Although it's new, this little camera is already very popular. Over 10,000 sold in the past month alone at Amazon, and the five-star reviews are rolling in.

Pros 👍

According to one user, the night vision works extremely well. "Night vision does exactly what it says. Can see clearly without a light. However, this camera has a light and will even kick on when motion is detected when ... dark outside."

It also makes a great check-in tool when you're away, said one pet owner. "We turned on the speaker and totally confused our animals. Our dog would come to the camera, shove her nose gently into the camera and we had great shots of dog nostrils. The cat turned to look around to see who was calling his name and then went back to sleep."

One shopper attested that this is well worth the cost. "They may be small, but they punch way above their weight class. A great value for the price."

Cons 👎

If you want to use this camera outside, you absolutely can — but some users dislike the adapter cable. One reported, "The only downside is the outdoor weather cable is so awkward and short that you really can’t hide it."

Another wished for the power to turn it on and off and deducted a star, they said, "due to the lack of a geofence option that will enable and disable the camera when you are away versus at home."
