OAJ- Albert J. Ellis Airport

I fly a lot for work. This airport is 10 minutes from my house, and do I ever feel thankful for that!
It is literally a show up and walk in type of deal. Never a long wait, so easy and relaxing to start your travel. I also rent cars here from time to time, and the rental agents customer service and process is excellent. My only hope is that in the future we can get more expanded flight options. So happy that I get spoiled by my little hometown airport

We got here an hour early for our flight to an important work conference, and after waiting for 30 minutes after they were supposed to start boarding with no updates on what happened they finally said that our flight was going to be delayed by over a hour because they needed tape to fix something on the plane and that there was literally no way we could get to where we were going. So now we have to cancel our entire trip. My experience was absolutely horrible and I feel like 1 star is too good for this place.

What a great little airport. It's quite a bit off the highway but it's a great location for those that live around here and the servicemen from Camp Lejeune. Most flights come in from the Charlotte hubs.

A few airlines, one baggage claim area, a few rental car agencies....oh and the cleanest bathroom I have ever been in at an airport. That's it. Too cool!

This is our local airport. They have made vast improvements over many years but what really aggravates me is the amount of flights.. delta used to have 4-6 flights day to Atlanta out of this airport now it's down to 2. It's gotten crazy since covid and I'm hoping eventually it comes back but just feels very limited now. The airport itself is pretty nice offering restaurants and eateries by the gates. It runs pretty smooth for most part.. staff is great and helpful I just wish we had more flights..my hubby goes in and out every month so I spend lot of time picking him up and dropping him off.. that I'd another frustrating part of airport.. I'm in and out I wait for him to call me that he's outside before I come get him from up the road and when I do too many people are pulling up idle and no security guards helping flow of traffic..

So first off-this is a very small airport. However, it seems to be decently run. We had an early morning flight today. Arrived an hour before take off and was through check in and security in 15 minutes. Gate area is kept very clean and there's a charging stations at just about every seat. Staff was all polite and professional. If we ever need to fly out from this area again not a bad spot to use!

This airport is small but has some of the highest traffic out there due to Camp Lejeune, yo over work your employees! I've seenm one desk agent checkin, board and manage baggage for a whole plane! Then turnaround and have to rebook same plane due to delays.

Now parking is atrocious. We hen they switched from having an attendant to making the public "do obit yourself", Dr o you think they informed said customer s ? No. So you've got handicap walking out to car, driving to gate, then holding up traffick turning around, going back inside to pay a stinking kiosk! Then walking back to car all after last flight of the night.

HOW HARD IS IT to hire an employee to attend the gate for each flight arrival? You are making millions! Do the right thing Lazy Organization right there! Or at least inform people with a sign as they enter!!!!!!

A teeny tiny airport that's extremely convenient:
-Easy onsite car rentals
-Fast and kind security
-Clean
-Four gates
-Clean bathrooms
-Vending machines if the two restaurants are closed
-Lots of seating and charging stations

This review is specifically for Ms. Ayla of Delta Airlines. I came to Jacksonville, NC for a legal matter that was never closed by the former resident of the county of Onslow. After a tedious day and extremely stressful engagements the day prior, I returned to the airport to fly back Florida. Me and over 49 passengers were notified at 0445 that our plane would be delayed possibly 2-3 hours or more. As we all waited on what was next, Ms. Ayla called upon each of us individually to rebook our flights. I literally felt defeated and exhausted as I awaited for my name to be called. Once I met up with her, she rebooked me quickly and wished me a Merry Christmas. In a world where I have experienced many less than favorable treatment this act of kindness brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Ayla for seeing me. This literally made my trip to Jacksonville, NC not as undesirable.

Small town airport with a nice modern vibe. You have to be patient with them as the same folks that handle the tickets also load and unload the aircraft, so sometimes things seem to lag. Everyone I met is very professional and ready to answer any questions.

My wife and I volunteer with the USO center there (more of an office, but we are there to serve our heroes and their families). The airport granted us a space to work from that is right next to the baggage claim and we always have a good time there.

After all these years, they still haven't made a cell phone lot. Parking all the way in BFE gets old.
