Powered by exhilarating acrobatics, choreography, spoken word, video projections, shadow play, and original music, "Dear San Francisco" invites locals and visitors alike on a heart-stopping romp through both the essence and the myth that has San Francisco indelibly etched on our collective imagination. From the Gold Rush and 1906 earthquake to the beat poetry and the mysterious fog, San Francisco comes vividly to life through a series of tableaus (acts) including hoop diving, Chinese pole, Korean plank, hand-balancing, juggling, and "hand-to-trap" (a form first created by Shana Carroll performed by an international cast of world-class acrobats. The acclaimed acrobatic "Dear San Francisco" is an intimate and immersive resident production from The 7 Fingers, one of the world's leading contemporary circus arts companies. Created by Bay Area natives, The 7 Fingers co-founders Shana Carroll and Gypsy Snider, Dear San Francisco pays homage to the stunning beauty, storied characters, and astounding resilience of the City by the Bay. "Dear San Francisco is the result of a lifelong love affair with the city that continues to reinvent, redefine, and inspire awe," said Snyder and Carroll in a joint statement. "A theatrical love letter of sorts, our hope is that this production will create a shining and welcoming light for all in the San Francisco Bay Area."

DEAR SAN FRANCISCO is a must. I'm a local and plan to see it again!!!

From the moment you step into the historic Club Fugazi, you're in for an unforgettable journey with "Dear San Francisco." This isn't just a show; it's a love letter to the city, wrapped in the most breathtaking (seriously we were gasping) acrobatics you'll ever see. Influenced by the legendary Circus Teacher Master Yi Lu, the performers' graceful strength and athleticism are simply awe-inspiring. Watching the audience gasp and cheer as acrobats flew through the air, perfectly timed and executed, was a thrill like no other. But it's not all just spectacle; there's a heartwarming interactive touch where the audience shares what San Francisco means to them on postcards, which are then read aloud. Mine was one of them, and it felt like being part of a larger community narrative. The unsung hero with "Popeye forearms" controlling the rigging deserves a shoutout for the seamless flow of the performances. "Dear San Francisco" captures the city's spirit with humor, inclusive vibes, and nods to local icons like Lawrence Ferlinghetti. If you're a San Franciscan or just visiting, don't miss this gem at Club Fugazi. It's an experience that defines the creative heartbeat of our city. By chance there were other locals in the audience, too. A North Beach musician who performs at Cafe Trieste, former Miss California 2022!

Right before Zoe (performer) gets tossed up in the air.
Some flowers were shared as part of the show.

WOW!!! I had never heard of Club Fugazi until attending a show there Thursday night as a part of a friends, employer-sponsored holiday night out. The "Dear San Francisco" show we attended was put on by a creative collective known as The 7 Fingers. It was 90 minutes long and every moment of it was jaw dropping.

All of the performers were fantastic and added their own special skill/technique to the show yet they all worked SO well together. The energy of and between the performers was out of this world. Between the Chinese Yo-Yo aka Diabolo, the acrobatics and the singing and dancing; we were truly left awestruck.

I highly recommend checking out The 7 Fingers; I certainly will be coming back soon to catch some of their other shows (or watching this one again, it was that good!).

Fyi Club Fugazi serves beer, wine, small plates and desserts. We walked over after having dinner nearby, lots of restaurants in the area. The staff here was very helpful with seating and service.

I took my staff to Dear Francisco on Super Bowl Sunday. Yeah, I scheduled the date ahead of time, not thinking. But everyone seemed to really enjoy it. The performance was edge-of-your-seat excitement. The service was friendly.

Thank you. We are glad you stuck with your plans despite the Super Bowl! And, in the end it spared you that excruciating ending to that game…

Absolutely amazing!! Loved everything about the show! They really make you feel a part of the show and the talent is just WOW!! Loved learning the history of the theatre and even SF! You can tell each & every person has put their heart and soul into this production in every way! Service was so fast and food was good, nothing spectacular but some good snacks to enjoy during the show. The beauty of the old theater along with the set up and lighting was nostalgic, so much history! Try to get seats close to the front of the stage or in the balcony, we were in the back row. We would definitely come back!!

Dude, what??!!! First off I didn't even know this place existed! We came for a work event & wow the performance is amazing and just top notch! Seems like some of the performers are circus solei ex performers so the show was so good & creative.
Definitely a great girls night out, date night, type of vibe!

What a gem! We came for the Dear San Francisco show which was fantastic! Service was friendly and fast. The theater itself was intimate and quirky and steeped in history. The performers in the show were incredible acrobats, actors, musicians and went the extra mile to draw you in to the performance. Even my 6 year old had a blast, it was a truly memorable experience for the whole family.

Last night (December 6, 2023) was my first time back to Club Fugazi since Beach Blanket Babylon closed in 2019. A friend gathered a group of us for a holiday outing to see "Dear San Francisco". I have only one word: Go! It was fantastic. I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know what the show was about or what types of acts would be featured. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The grace of movement, of synergy, and of confidence was a sight to behold. Great performers and great performances. Much like Cirque du Soleil - on a smaller scale and stage, but in many ways, more engaging in such an intimate venue. I loved the show. I loved the space. I loved the love that emanated from the performers to the audience and back.

      Highly recommended.

I have seen this show FOUR times and will probably see it again! It's a love letter to the city and such a fun, feel good show.
The venue is super cute and quite small so it really feels you are part of the show.
Whenever I have people coming to town, dear San Francisco is always one of my recommendations!

Last night, I held my office holiday party here for Dear San Francisco. It truly is a love letter to San Francisco. Club Fugazi is a beautiful place with great history. The cast, management and staff were all wonderful. Please support our local performers and come see this show. We followed the show with dinner at the nearby Red Window.

Took a group of 25 to see Dear San Francisco for a pre-wedding celebration, was a mix of ages/backgrounds but everyone was in awe. From the initial email I sent using the form-filler on the website through the conclusion of the event we were well attended to and happy to experience the awe of both the Dear San Francisco cast/show and the Club Fugazi team.

Having an event here allowed us to mingle for the duration between doors open and showtime and kept everyone entertained through the show with drink/food service. It was definitely a win-win for us and continues to be talked about by both young and old a few months after.

A huge shout out to everyone we interacted with, it was on our first visit to the show we fell in deeper in love with the city and knew we want to share this treasure with those we hold dearest, it was a wild success.

Looking forward to many more shows at Club Fugazi.
