Don Pisto's Burrito Bar

Food was really good, the bottomless mimosas were a plus, just wish they had a few more options for flavors to miss with the brute. Tacos were so good!

Don pistos is a great California Mexican spot in north beach.

They have an amazing carnitas meal to go. You can select 1lb, 2lb, 5lbs, and the 2lb comfortably feeds 6 adults for under $50 total.

The carnitas are juicy and tender and come with tortillas, rice, black beans, chips and a side salad. The dressing on the side salad is to die for-ask for extra dressing!

Came here for endless boozy brunch and we went with the mimosa and sangria. Both were so good! There is a time limit but it was plenty and they provided us extra pitchers since we had a larger group. The food was also really good so great spot for large groups and boozy brunch!

Loved our dining experience at Don Pistos. The service was phenomenal. We got the fried chicken,
birria tacos & carnitas tacos. Everything was delicious! I will recommend this restaurant 10/10!!

RIP DON PISTOS! Such a great restaurant, good vibes inside, food was always amazing. Hope to check them out one day when they reopen in Baja.

Great food, nice atmosphere, well worth finding as it's easy to drive by. The Carne Asana burrito is best ever!

FOOD
The chips and salsa were as you'd expect, the salsa packs a bit more of a punch and vinegary bite which was nice! We also got guac which was nice but a bit creamy, certainly more Tex-Max style, I prefer mine a bit chunkier.
The tacos were actually pretty great, I didn't expect much but I really appreciated the heavy serving of onions and cilantro salsa. The meat itself was juicy, would certainly recommend.
The french toast and bacon I ordered off of a win, exactly what you think of with french toast but nothing to write home about.
I also ordered the cod which was fine but a bit underdressed for just how much fish you get, so the serving was nice but the portions were a tad off.

DRINK
We got the mimosas and sangria. The mimosas were fine, but the red sangria was actually pretty good! They were very adept at keeping our pitchers filled, which is to be expected but we appreciated that.

ATMOSPHERE
It was a really nice atmosphere for Sunday afternoon, a fair bit of people but not too loud or crowded. The service was great once we sat down, but after the first round of drinks/food arrived, it was actually pretty difficult to get someone's attention, even though they had forgotten several people's dishes/drinks. Even as it neared 4 PM and we were one of the last groups around they weren't checking in on us, even when we just wanted the check to leave it was hard to get someone. All in all, this place is nice for a large group of friends but I wouldn't go boasting about the food or service, nice for a gathering of friends around pitchers of drinks and some decent bites.

Just had another fantastic experience here. I brought out my colleagues to show them a good time in North Beach, and Don Pistos did not disappoint!

We had a round of baja tacos - my favorite dish here - and our servers kept the chips, salsa, fresh guacamole, pitchers of water, and margaritas flowing. Everything was delicious and we hung out here for a bit, enjoying the soothing breeze in the outdoor seating area on an otherwise blistering SF day.

Already looking forward to my next jonesing for tacos and margs in NB!

I've been to Don Pistos a number of times - usually for a bottomless brunch. The deals are great and the food is phenomenal.
