Nice spot in Chinatown for authentic Chinese food. This place made me feel like I was eating home made food. I would highly recommend the green onion pancakes - they were so fresh and crispy!!

The service was also really quick and the workers are very friendly. Additionally, the restaurant is very clean.

Walked around Chinatown looking for a spot with the intent of hoping to find a good random spot based on what I saw through the window, patron demographic and any food or menu I could see.

I was seated fairly quickly after they had cleaned off a table. They were pretty busy and found out after I sat that it was close to closing time for them. Waitress assumed I was Chinese to start, but was super helpful after she found out I wasn't and helped me make my selection.

I think I went with the Won Ton Soup and Pork Xiao Long Bao. Both were super flavorful and large in portion. The chili oil was fantastic as well as their vinegar sauce for the Xiao Long Bao.

Glad I was able to find this spot on my walk!

The best Chinese food in China town. Better than the to go dumpling and bao places that are popular.

Service is quick and food was good

Hon's Wun-Tun House is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, you can see the care they put into their food. Watching the staff prepare the wontons fresh daily at the window is a treat in itself. The filling is simply incredible. It has a perfect blend of succulent shrimp and tender pork, with a delightful hint of sesame oil that ties everything together. Each wonton is crafted with precision, and you can taste the freshness in every bite.

But the experience doesn't stop there because the noodles are equally amazing! You can either get the original thin egg noodles or the wider version. They are perfectly cooked with just the right amount of chew, they soak up the flavors of the broth beautifully. The combination of the fresh wontons and these outstanding noodles creates a comforting, flavorful dish that keeps you coming back for more. I recommend adding some of their chili oil as well to give it a nice kick.

The service here is also top-notch, quick and attentive, making sure you have everything you need without any delay. They do get busy so they have a simple system of writing down your name and how many people are in your party on the clip board near the front checkout. The place is spotless, with plenty of seating, so you never feel cramped. It's clear they prioritize both quality food and a welcoming atmosphere. If you're looking for authentic, high-quality wontons and noodles in a clean and comfortable setting, Hon's Wun-Tun House is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Walked in for lunch while exploring Chinatown. We were impressed with everything we had. The portions were big, the food was authentic, and the service was quick. Across the board the flavor was great (although be warned that they mean spicy when you order spicy). These were actually our favorite dumplings of 3 Chinese restaurants we stopped at on this trip.

This is no chain and this is NOT the location in the financial district. If you are looking for a low-key, authentic eating experience in Chinatown, we would highly recommend.

This is one if those places where the service sucks ass but the food is good. We went on a Saturday morning and the servers said they were very busy because their computer system was down. Took about 10 mins to get a menu after being sat and ever longer to successfully flag someone down to take our order. Some patrons would just grab their own menu from other empty tables.

Would def recommend getting the Sichuan Wontons and Chinese Donut wrapped in rice noodle.

I would definitely skip the wonton soup, the broth was kinda fishy compared to the chicken wonton broth I'm used to.

My partner came here for lunch and raved about the wonton noodle soup so a couple days later he had to take me cause I got FOMO.

The wonton wrapping was so thin and the filling was flavorful and plump. We got the wontons in the Beef Organ Noodle Soup variation. The noodles were thin and springy, the broth had a lot of depth with lots of flavor to it. The beef organs were solid too but the star was the wontons for sure.

We also ordered the beef brisket lo mein which came with the same egg noodle as the soup and was more like a dry version of the noodle soup than a lo mein. Came with a side of soup as well.

Food was great but service was terrible.

We came here for a Friday dinner and had to wait maybe about 20mins for a table.

      Service: 0/5
It was a full house, but there were 6 waitresses waiting tables.
-Had to flag down multiple waitresses for water
-My clay pot came after my bf was halfway done with his meal
-Had to ask multiple times for my bowl of rice
-Rice was served in a SCALDING hot bowl which burned our hands when we tried to hold it-- who eats their rice while holding the bowl, I guess???

Food was fine but the lacking service won't have us come back.

      Updated review

Came here second time. It was good while we were eating it there. However, I felt very thirsty after the meal. This is usually happens when I consume MSG...

Noodles were great with texture that's a little "crunchy" or on the firm side instead of soft noodles. This is not the soft noodles you would get from elsewhere normally. We ordered two soup dumplings, the skin was paper thin! Large amount of soup inside the dumplings which is pretty good compared to places I've tried, but as for the flavor of the actual meat inside, I've had better. Wontons were also great. I was a little disappointed after the meal due to my dry mouth... I hope next time I would be better.

Always solid for won ton yee mein (won ton noodle soup) and traditional Cantonese dishes, such as green onion pancakes, boiled dumplings, and whatnot.

Had no idea even the newer location was this popular, although the wait for a larger party wasn't too bad even at dinner.

Park at the Portsmouth Square Parking garage is barely a two minute walk away.
