Illinois Korean War Memorial

Never have the Navy and Marines shown more brightly-General Douglas MacArthur.

Beautiful memorial to the 1,748 Illinois residents who died or were missing in action during the Korean War. They're listed by name on the granite slabs.

On the slab, there is a bronze bell with four niches that honor the four branches of the military. Army. Navy. Air Force. Marines.

The memorial is in Oak Ridge Cemetery which is also the final resting place for the Lincoln Tomb. Plenty of parking is available to visit this and the other War Memorials.

This is a magnificent memorial to the veterans of the Korean War

Beautifully done monument out of a bell.

They play the marine's hymn and it is well done.
