Keefner's is a great place to have lunch or brunch. The food is outstanding and the cheese sauce is of the original cheese sauce recipe for horseshoes and is incredibly yummy. The atmosphere is great and you feel like you a part of the family.

Traveling home today and wanted to try a new spot for lunch. This little restaurant has a lot to offer. Met our family for lunch and a few of the lunch dishes chosen were the Tenderloin pony shoe, Turkey burger pony shoe, Chicken fingers, Italian beef sandwich, Swiss mushroom burger and the BLT. The food was fast, fresh off the grill and delish. We met the owner of Keefners and realized her sister owned a great place named 6 Degrees in Chicago. (I also love that restaurant and have been there a handful of times) We will be back again for sure.

Greeted you with a friendly hello when you come thru the door. Served us quickly and received our food and drinks quickly as well. We both had the 6 degree salad. Greens were nice and crisp and the combination of items on the salad were spot on.

      We enjoyed our visit!

A little bit of a trip off of the interstate but worth it. Darcy's pint was closed and this one looked good for a horseshoe. It was better from what I remember getting at D pint. Tea was maybe a tik off but everything else was incredible. Service was outstanding. Super friendly and fast. Got the horseshoe with a tenderloin and Italian beef. Should of got the pony. Portion was huge but I ate it. Was miserably stuffed for my 3hr drive home. But dang it was a great horseshoe.

I love this place. Angie and her team really know how to make you feel at home. I enjoyed a Buffalo Shoe for lunch; then I started the next day with a Breakfast Shoe. Thanks for not charging me rent. I'll be back!

Keefner's appears to be a local staple. It seems to offer the comforts of your grandmother's kitchen with the same familiarities that you would come to expect.

We shared a 6 degrees salad, which included chicken and cranberries. The salad itself was standard and left room for some sort of additional excitement to take it to the next level.

The Italian beef sandwich was essentially a roast beef sandwich. Again if felt standard but lacked any elements that made it above and beyond. All in all was a quaint meal. I'm not sure we'll be back, it didn't quite feel like our crowd although I can see why they have a loyal following.

We just ate our first pony, which is half of a horseshoe (google it ) at Keefner's. It. Was. Delicious. I had pulled pork and my husband had hamburger, and we loved them. As a Louisianan, I've had my share of good "down home food," so when I say this thing was yummy-I mean it!
Another plus was the amazingly friendly service of the staff and personal recommendations of our server.
Also I appreciated the selection of books and coloring books for our little diners. It helped support our "no phones" at the table policy.
Thanks for great food and an authentic Springfield dining experience right on historic Route 66.

Keefner's was great! I have had Horseshoes a lot of places and this is my favorite in the Springfield area by far, I had the grilled chicken and dipped the second half in hot sauce. The service was awesome and the cheese sauce was better than Dublin Pub and D'arci's Pint. Seriously this place should be way way busier!
