Staff is amazing and so nice! They greet you right away and make you feel welcomed. I would highly recommend getting an appointment so your wait is shorter. I was in and out getting a birth certificate in five minutes and they even took me a little early before my appointment. I highly recommend them here, super nice!

I came in super last minute while visiting from out of town to get a copy of my birth certificate. I know how bad of a rep these type of places can get. Thankfully and surprisingly everyone we met with on that visit was kind and helpful. From the officers around the buildings to the clerk that helped us with our transaction. No one was rude. I had no appointment so I did have to wait for about 45 minutes which I guess is not too bad. I do see what ppl say about rudeness though . One of the ladies helping the non appointment line always spoke with a sense of urgency and irritability. Not rude just her tone you know which some people might be offended. But not too bad of a visit for myself.

LOVE working with the folks at the Election filing office. They are so friendly and efficient. Candidate filing is a chaotic and super busy time for me but I actually enjoy working with Newton and Lakisha and the rest of the team in the elections office.

Let's do it again next year!

It's the worst place ever! I called them at 3pm. to see if I needed an appointment to get a regular copy of a grant deed. Some receptionist at the real estate department told me I did no need an appointment and I could walk in any time. I got out of my house immediately, but unfortunately, it took me an hour to get there due to traffic. I arrived at 4:20 pm. By the door of the building, another lady stopped me and told me that the records office had closed at 4:15pm!!! From that moment, nothing I said convinced her to let me in. The web says the office closes at 5 pm. The phone record says the office closes at 5 pm. I have a special needs daughter, and nobody can take care of her until 3:15pm. I called them again to see if I could still get the printed copy. A lady (named Angel) reminded me (very rudely) that she was not the one giving me the wrong info, so she would not take responsibility, and she asked me to come back the next day (I would say try my luck as I have no choice but coming out after 3:15pm).
There is absolutely no liability or mercy at this office. I hope they find their justice.

Incredibly helpful and easy process even when I didn't have an appointment for getting a copy of my birth certificate. Get there early. I was there at 7 and there was a line of 6 before me.

This all took place yesterday at about 2:35pm. I had made an appointment for 2:45pm to get my daughter's Birth Certificate! I'm giving this place a 1 star due to the bad customer service I received from a worker standing around inside the building line of the Birth Certificate section. I asked her what I needed to do next after checking in cause it told me to go to window 5 after I checked in for my appointment! Cause I saw all these people who were waiting in line for non appointments. Mind you there were signs posted around stating appointments take priority!!! She told me to just wait in line. I then stated that why do I still needed to wait in line if I already have an appointment? When there's signs saying that appointments take priority! Only after I demanded it did she help me go to the next available window. She thought I was just some fob who was going to take it, and let her treat me like I was some imbecile! Mind you if I had went to wait in line I would have been there for easily an hour or more. With my fussy baby, and four year old that I had with me. Luckily for me I spoke up for myself, and was in, and out in 10 minutes. I really wished I got her name or just reported her to a manager right there! Imagine how many people this lady pushes people off to wait in line cause she just doesn't care. Otherwise the process of getting a Birth Certificate is quick , and easy when making an appointment.

Went here multiple times to get copies of wedding, birth and death certificates. As long as you follow instructions the place is amazing. You have to sign up for appointment online then when you get there show then proof and then you may proceed to stand in line for your stuff. If you go on the wrong day or at the wrong time I can see how the place may be a disaster, but I've never encountered a bday day.

The staff here are AMAZING! I had been dreading going, because I'd had a bad experience recording a document at a different location. But the people at this location are just fantastic. There are greeters at the front of the building to help you figure out what department you need to go to (and where it is), if you're not sure. Then, the people inside are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and friendly. Highly recommend!

I came to the Norwalk Records Office to pick up my birth certificate, and I have to say, the service was phenomenal. There was a staff member in every step of the process in picking up my certificate. They were really helpful and friendly.
