Madrone Art Bar

Cute little place with an eclectic, kinda gritty vibe. I've always enjoyed the art installations in the windows outside and appreciate what they're doing with the place altogether.

I ordered a Black Manhattan and got served right away. A performer was playing jazz on the piano for a while which was a fun touch, even for a slow night in there. I'd love to stop by on one of the Motown nights! All in all, it's a cool neighborhood bar.

Nice bartenders, cool art and space, but that's about the end of the positives here for me. I came on a Saturday night and the music was okay, lots of R&B and rap throwbacks which I guess was catering to the older crowd.

Pretty full when we got there a little before 12am, but it was emptying within an hour of getting there. By the time we left, the crowd was 90% dudes and some of them were being creepy and hovering around my friend and I.

This place was heavily recommended by some of my friends, so maybe I was here on an off night? Still, it would probably take a lot to get me back here lol.

Haven't ate here but during Monday nights it's few spots close that's open the bar has an outdoor area which is needed cuz it can get crowded inside as far as service the bartenders were OK and the bouncers I guess/security cool

I will go again. It's a cool spot, possibly to take friends for a adventure ‍

Cute bar, dimly lit inside, covered in art (rotating exhibits listed on their website). Was fairly empty on a Sunday early evening, and service was fast and friendly. We got the
Operation Witchcraft, with a licoricey taste and just a hint of absinthe, and the Herbie Hancock, a delightful and refreshing cocktail which delivered on the watermelon flavor. I would definitely return just for this, but they have a good amount of other tasty-looking drinks on the menu as well. I'll also be back to experience live music here. Cool spot.

A great dance bar venue with affordable cocktails and great music. Their house cocktails are $14, and beers on tap start at $8!

Too nice a night to stay home & stare at Netflix- time for a stroll down Divisadero, without a clue where we're going. Passing the corner of Fell & Divisadero we heard some Slavic style live music and the stars aligned. Got the last table, perfect view of the band & some guy having his own personal dance party. The bartenders are super friendly. The crowd was really diverse age wise, 20 somethings crowded around the bar- the grey hairs digging the music. There's a vintage half circle upholstered sofa in the corner that looked like someone's satellite living room. Three little dogs, people coming & going, their own personal Cheers.
Madrone takes the dive bar concept to another level. It's arty, funky, and wouldn't scare off your sister from Indiana.
An evening like this, falling into Madrones, is another reason why I love San Francisco- serendipity around every corner.

Here for friend's birthday party on the venue's Motown Monday. We all had a blast. Friendly and efficient bartenders that make delicious drinks. Great DJs that led a fun atmosphere. The dance floor was packed. Especially love the diversity of the crowds. Highly recommend!

Love coming here for a good DJ sesh! Make sure to leave your jacket at home though! It gets nice and close , sweaty and a big ole dance party. I love bars that have more than the Golden State Dry Cider. Schilling was featured with their mango and I loved it!

No cover charge when I arrived at 9:30.
The drinks were watered down but the music and crowd was hot.
Music from 80-90s;
Folks were mixed aged from 20-50s.
Had a great time dancing on the small floor.

Fun local bar that supports/showcases local artists and they serve above par cocktails, what
more could you want?
