My son had many basketball games here which we came to watch and the school is great.
Very spacious, clean and well maintained.
The staff is friendly and helpful, everything in good shape.
Plenty of parking, all of the sports and amenities that kids need.
Wonderful school, I would have no issues sending my children here.

Best public school in south Orange County! Teachers and staff are great! The sports programs are number one!

My experince at mission was very disappointing. This school has many issues that need to be dealt with. The bathrooms are constantly full of kid's vaping and not to mention they are disgusting. The school attempted to help seniors get ready for college by having a fafsa day. This day was an absolute waste of time. There were 300 kids crammed in a tiny room with 3 counselors trying to help fill out fafsa forms. No counselors could answer any of my questions about fafsa. This school needs work.

As a graduated senior and rising college freshman, my 4 years at Mission Viejo High School can only be described as disappointing.

First, a majority of the school's staff is utterly useless. While a small handful of faculty do a crazy amount of work for the school (especially the science/math department!), most lean back in their near-broken office chairs snacking on their 7th donut.

MVHS gives it students an okay education. It's classes are perfectly suitable for most colleges.

But MVHS is a school that strongly markets their award winning academics (notably their IB program). Unfortunately, if you are planning on sending your child here in hopes of an education that will send them to a T20 school, they will have to work much harder. The IB program is simply a waste of money and provides no benefit in college admissions as marketed. And the school doesn't offer enough AP classes to substitute for this. MVHS just doesn't do enough to help these students attend the schools of their dreams. Students can attend another school 20 minutes away and receive a substantially better education while still maintaining a healthy environment.

Students will definitely have fun at sporting events and school dances though! Top notch sports and arts programs. So if that's what you're looking for, Mission Viejo High School is great.

This is a great school! Very big and spacious! Many opportunities for the kids to get involved in many activities whether it be arts, music, sports, etc.!

The orchestra & band are amazing! Under the instruction of their director, they will sweep all their competitions! He is very talented and brings out all the talents of his students! They did an amazing job on their first concert this year. Can't wait to see what progress they'll make from now till the end of the year!

Beautiful school. The campus is huge and the overall look and feel of the campus is great. Ample parking in a lot that's easy to navigate. The only downside I experienced was a major ant problem in the guest section of the football stadium. Hard to focus on the game when you suddenly realize you're covered in ants.

My nephew is graduating this year from MVHS. He shouldn't be because he ditched so much. This school is easy for students to ditch class. Surprise they let many graduate. LOL.

Education: Pretty good considering it's a public school. Teachers and staff are fantastic and readily available to help. Great selection of classes. I'm currently in the automotive class and architectural design class.

Drug/campus Safety: Eh, what could I say, it's high school. There is an officer assigned to the school who is there everyday school day. Safety is no issue on campus.

Students: Generally, most students are easily approachable and easy to make friends with. There are the typical cliques with the jocks, hippie-types, fashion-aholics. Some are arrogant and others are fantastic.

Athletics: Football powerhouse. Won regional and state championships. At one point #1 in the country. As of now, we sit at something like #8. Generally a huge target for other schools, so get ready (if you play football) for big, locally broadcasted games, and lots of smack talk from the other teams.

Classes: Some easy, some hard. Wide variety, both during the school day and after hours.

Overall, this school beats any local school, both public and private. I moved from a small town in Illinois to here in south OC, this school was inviting and really easy to get enrolled. Lots of college recruiters always looking to give scholarships to kids at this school.

Don't read the other reviews. Honestly this is the best school anyone could go to in this area. As well as amazing academics and wicked good sports, the school has outstanding extra curricular activities such as drama and band and color guard. It is very spirited and the staff care about every single individual. I love it!!
