      This place is a delight!

PRO-TIP: Come here for Happy Hour to get the best deals. Happy hour is Tuesday through Sunday from 3pm to 5pm.

The Happy Hour menu features a variety of drinks ranging from ritas, to vino, to draft beer, to chela y mezcal. However, I highly recommend ASKING FOR THE SANGRIA. Its only $8 at Happy Hour times. And its fantastic! So fruity and sweet and pairs well with the food offerings.

Speaking of food offerings, you MUST try the Happy Hour special called the Chicharron Pollo. Its a crispy chicken marinated in sea salt & lime juice. The condiment is a tasty chile Rocoto aioli. At only $14, you'll walk away with your appetite satiated at a fair price.

The other Happy Hour menu item to try is the "1/2 Rotisserie Chicken". Its an organic chicken marinated in Peruvian seasonings. It comes with fries - be sure to ask for them crispy. And also a salad. Its a lot of food, and a good deal at only $20.

      When: Sunday Brunch @11:20
Parking: easier than parking anywhere downtown. It is in an area with lots of restaurants but we found parking less than a block away as soon as we arrived.
Ambiance: rustic modern decor with nautical touches. Very clean restaurant! Bathrooms too.
Cocktails: Pisco Trio Tasting- classic, passion fruit, chica morada. Presentation: 10. Taste: Classic-7/10: have had better. I used to bartend at Puerto 27 & they had the best! Passion fruit- 9/10: almost perfection. Nice balance of tart and sweet. Chica Morada: 7/10- barely noticed chicha morada flavor. Color was on point though.
Food: Ceviche Classico- 9/10: Fresh, great selection of seafood, portion was plentiful. Tangy salty crunchy deliciousness!!! Personally wish for a bigger portion of sweet potato.
Roasted beet salad- 7/10: Cubed chunks of beets with a few chunks or purple sweet potato. Light tasting yet fiiling. Menu said cheese but barely any noticeable on the salad. Wish it came on a bed of arugula or baby lettuce.
Lomo saltado: 8/10: Flavor profile on point!!! Asked for fries on side because I like mine crispy. Hubs just puts them in the sauce when they arrive. Tender cuts of beef. Veggies not soggy. Rice was perfect. Portion was as expected for city prices/portions.
Service: 9/10: attentive enough. Only had to go up to hostess desk once.

Tasty food, attentive service, light-hearted ambiance.
      So why only four stars?
      Price.
This place is not a $$ but should be a $$$$.
We have been here twice and had enjoyable dinners, drinks and desserts. But the final bill smarted a bit.
Not an every day place on our budget.
But for a special occasion -- Enjoy!

Decent Peruvian common fare and friendly service in a nice space, overpriced as others point out. Makes for faster brunch seating if you can't wait for other popular joint around here to pay that much for essentially a diner bfast

The only reason I rated this place so low was that we seen a ROACH about a feet from us on the counter when we sat at the bar. It climbed into the bar area. The staff was slightly apologetic but didn't seem surprised. Our bartender said he'll deal with it later when we're done eating and didn't try to look for it. We were disgusted part way through our meal.

The ceviche mixto was good. Very refreshing! And the chips paired well with it. Our cocktails were so cute!! The tiki bear and mi lady were both good!

Took my parents here and they had a great experience ! The waiter made them feel at ease, and helped us make great selections based on what we said we liked.

Unfortunately the Peruvian corn was not available for a side and only sprinkled into dishes .

The seafood dishes were best! I do not recommend the short rib, could use a little more salt. The meat was tender but a little dry.

Great little spot, would like to come back and try different menu items

Food: really tasty! I ordered the yuca fries, a cocktail, and the saltado. Everything was delicious and we were able to sample some of the cocktail (sorry can't remember the name!)

Service: incredible, fast, and very friendly.

      Ambiance: beautiful, bright, airy

The menu was extensive and made it hard to make a decision (in a good way!)

Stumbled upon this hidden gem on a Wednesday. One word: WOW!!!! We were warmly welcomed and sat by the window. The music was fantastic. They were quick to bring us water and excited to talk about the menu with us. We ordered foods we were familiar with and both agreed this was the best version of the dish we had ever had! Everything was clean and the staff was so kind. I will absolutely be returning here!!

Highlights: the Mocktails! Big and full of flavor! The Lomo, The Ceviche, the yucca chips!

      I will absolutely be back!

The Lomo saltado !! ADD EGG AND PLANTAIN TRUST ME!
The Ceviche Pescado - so freshhhhh!!!!!

This place was awesome! Came here for an early dinner and they definitely did NOT disappoint. As we were 1 of the first customers of dinner, we got service right away and attention our entire meal.

Food was delicious, got about 5 plates and between the 2 of us we were definitely full. It tasted amazing and was out quickly.

Decor/ambiance was perfect, and can't really tell you about the noise since we were like 1 of 3 groups there. Definitely would come back again

Mochica is an awesome choice if you're in the mood for Peruvian food.

I've been saving this receipt to remember to write this review haha. I treated my friend to a meal here for her birthday! We ordered the pisco sour, sunny ginger, ceviche, chancho de adobado, and coconut rice.

Our drinks were happy hour price at $10 each. Everything we tried was delicious!! Our server Melvin was fantastic and even sang to my friend for her birthday.

I am looking forward to coming back here. :)
