One Big Man and One Big Truck

Just moved this past weekend with one big man -- they were on time, efficient, and very nice, easy-going guys. Moved an entire one bedroom in 3 hours! Thanks guys!

We hired the OBM (One big man) team to move us from SF out to the burbs.

Booking: Super efficient, really easy, responsive via email and/or phone. They send you a form to fill out about a week ahead of time to they know what you are getting into, you should DEFINITELY book parking (if you are in SF - The MTA website is online now and super easy to use).

Move Day: The crew (3 people for our 1 bedroom apartment) showed up 10 mins early, were super great when I had to deal with the MTA to tow 2 cars (DON'T PARK IN MY BOOKED PARKING PEOPLE), came in assessed the situation (we were mostly packed), and just started working. No messing around - all about time saving, etc.

Tidbits: All 3 guys were nice, courteous, personable, professional, fast, and careful with all of our stuff!

One Big Man and One Big Truck are excellent, there is a clear reason their ratings are so good. I used them because a coworker recommended them and I am very glad that they did. They were clear and communicative ahead of time and on time and efficient on the moving day. They bring additional supplies and their own tools to handle your furniture disassembly and reassembly needs. Extremely convenient to not have to dismantle everything ahead of time.

They bill in 15 min increments so you get the most for your money, and their rates are super reasonable, especially when they're so quick.

The people I moved with were great, I'm sure all of their people are. Easy 5 stars.

We used this moving service to move out of our 1 bedroom apartment in San Francisco into a 10x10 storage unit (both on the base floor). We had 2 movers and I was very impressed by how quickly and efficiently they moved our belongings. We were all moved out within 2.5 hours. The movers were professional and incredibly efficient. The price was comparable to other services we have used. The only other thing worth mentioning is to make sure to book at least 2 weeks in advance as they get booked quickly.

Update... used these guys again last weekend and they did not disappoint. Excellent movers all the way around. Professional, friendly, organized, respectful of belongings. And again, cost was less than quoted! This was a Walnut Creek to San Leandro move, so they charged for travel time outside of Oakland as expected. But, worth every penny! Can't imagine using another company (though I seriously hope we're done moving!)

One word, awesome! From the time I first talked with Fred, to Quentin and Miguel moving us today the experience was flawless. These folks are as professional as it gets and absolutely top notch! On time, efficient, belongings handled perfectly and well protected. Will definitely refer friends and keep them in mind for next time. Excellent experience, costs less than estimated, perfect on delivery.

I've moved 4 times in 3 years since moving to San Francisco and these guys are by far the best. They communicate with you before the move, are quick, clean, and efficient.

They came in under the budget and quicker than estimated.

I highly recommend! I've used them three times and each time the service has been great. From scheduling, to the actual move everyone involved is kind, thoughtful, and professional. They were on time and efficient while also making sure everything was handled with care. My last move was from a fifth floor apartment in SF (elevator) to a house in San Joaquin County (two story) and Tim and Bertin were wonderful, I can't recommend them enough!

TL;DR Seriously great experience. Fast and about as friendly as you can get.

My wife and i moved from one neighborhood to another in SF and managed to do the whole thing start to finish in 4 hours. That was due in part to the great advice and preparation they gave before the day of the move. But even though my wife and I were as prepared for the movers as possible, it wouldn't have mattered if the guys weren't so hard working and efficient. By the end of the day we were all joking, having fun and congratulating ourselves on a smooth move.

All our stuff made it across the city unscathed. Never happened before during a move!

Four stars, 10/10. Would do again.

Incredible service. I've always used a Task Rabbit to help me move within SF but since I was moving from SF to Oakland this time and couldn't afford to make multiple trips with a tasker who has a small truck, I decided to go with professional movers. Since it was a last min decision, I messaged One Big Man via Yelp on Sat night for a Sun noon move. Fred got back to me at 9am on Sunday and told me they could help me move since they had a last min cancellation (I was very lucky!). Fred called to make sure that I was clear about the moving policy and parking situation (apparently I'm supposed to reserve a parking spot for their huge trucks with the city) - everything was emailed to me on the spot and they were super efficient with paperwork, instructions, etc.

Anyway, all said and done, the movers arrived at our apartment in the mission on the dot at 12pm and got started at 12.15pm (after they miraculously found a parking spot right in front of our building). Fred had estimated that the 2 guys would take 4 hours total to move our 1-bedroom, but we were very organized with packing (it's always the little stuff and random bits that takes up moving time and we made sure to put small stuff in big boxes) so it only took us a total of 2.5 hours door to door! That's even with disassembling and reassembling our 8-foot reclaimed wood dining table.

Our 2 guys were so quick, had a great attitude and were so pleasant to work with. We gave them each a 20% tip in the end. I would highly recommend this mover and would use them again.
