This company is fantastic. The person who scheduled the appointment was super professional, nice, and accommodating of my request for a slightly later start than usual. I had a pretty small move: basically just moving some things into a storage locker from one room we were changing into a nursery.
The guys who helped with the move were friendly, great communicators, fast, and experienced. They didn't even let being caught in the atmospheric river rain stop them. I love this moving service!!! Reliable, professional, efficient, thorough and best of all, trust worthy. I have moved with this company four times and each time, I am so grateful for the excellent service. Not only did they call to confirm the move and check list and help answer any other questions I had, Fred, the founder, called after my move--a tradition he's taken with every customer since he started the company nearly 40 years ago. I'm so impressed by the service, genuine care and love of these sweet guys. I can't recommend them more highly and will be using them again in the future. Getting that kind of personal attention and reassurance during such stressful times as a move is just so rare these days. Can't recommend them enough!!!!

These guys are THE ONLY MOVERS I use! They are the best: great communication, always on time, super professional and courteous and they really know how to pack a truck! I've used them several times for personal and work related projects and - which ever team I've had - they are 100% great.

I needed to move a heavy couch from a third floor apartment to a house in SF. Scheduling the move with Fred was easy and efficient. They researched the parking situation for each location and chose a time that would work best. The cost estimate was clear and fair. The three movers showed up on time and were extremely professional. The move could not have been any smoother. I would hire them again without question.

We hired the OBM (One big man) team to move us from SF out to the burbs.
Booking: Super efficient, really easy, responsive via email and/or phone. They send you a form to fill out about a week ahead of time to they know what you are getting into, you should DEFINITELY book parking (if you are in SF - The MTA website is online now and super easy to use).
Move Day: The crew (3 people for our 1 bedroom apartment) showed up 10 mins early, were super great when I had to deal with the MTA to tow 2 cars (DON'T PARK IN MY BOOKED PARKING PEOPLE), came in assessed the situation (we were mostly packed), and just started working. No messing around - all about time saving, etc.

The most recent time was the house I'd lived in for almost six years and I was just moving down the street so I wasn't fully packed. I was super stressed out and exhausted. Not only did the crew do the move carefully and quickly, but they also took some open boxes and other random stuff that I thought I was going to have to do after they were done. AND Quentin kept asking me how I was doing with everything and if there was anything else they could do to make things easier for me. I felt really cared-for, which is unexpected from movers (and maybe even a little weird, but whatever, it was awesome). They even helped me with some hard-to-reach light bulb chores at the very end.
And then a few days later they moved a friend of mine into my old place, and were awesome yet again and came back to my place to move a few things around (since I had changed my mind about a couple of placement issues).
Oh, and when I called just a week before the end of the month because I had waited too long to schedule my move, Wolfgang bent over backwards to fit me in and even ended up calling in an extra crew so that I could have an appointment at the time and of the length that worked best for me.
They go above and beyond at every step of the way (and a follow-up call a few days later to make sure it's all good). I love OBMOBT. Seriously. I hope I don't have to move again for a long, long time, but when I do I am calling them. - 9534535008Jan 5, 2020
Moving is stressful.
Sometimes.
I had some things in storage I haven't seen in years. As is the case with most people who have a storage, you forget what is in there yet you pay monthly premiums as if what is stored there is priceless. I wanted to end this nonsensical situation by moving everything to my house so I could either use it or donate it.
I wasn't going to move this stuff myself.
Moving companies have all of these fees and whatnot that literally make a smaller move like mine an unnecessarily expensive endeavor.
Not One Big Man One Big Truck!
You aren't encumbered with a 3 hour minimum for your smaller move.
I scheduled my move via the handy dandy Yelp app.
All of my paperwork and payments were handled electronically.
When the movers showed up a little before my move was scheduled, they phoned me.
You can track the movers whereabouts on a real time map link the company sends to you!
There is electronic start and end times that coincide with the location on the map that is also posted and sent to you.
Did I mention I wasn't present at this move because I am sick as hell with the flu in bed?
All of my stuff from the storage was nearly stacked in my livingroom so I could sort what I want to keep or donate.
This was a wonderfully easy project. I enjoyed the transparency in pricing that is advantageous to smaller moves like mine. The estimate was 3 hours. The actual move took less than 2.
They worked so hard. I appreciate that.
I like the computerized e-contracts that I signed on my phone. I also appreciate the real time map locators and start/end time posts so I can track from my phone.
I highly recommend One Big Man One Big Truck for your move whether it's a big one or a small one!
I plan to use them again for a big move.

We had a tricky move with 20 large heavy commercial planters, 16 heavy hydraulic massage tables and misc. furniture due to replacing flooring. Several movers would not take this job but after a visit to our business, One Big Man determined they could do the job. We had a 4 man crew move us twice, out of the space and then back into the space when the floor was done. The team was on time, ready to work, spoke English and up to the task. We were very pleased with the movers and with the help from the administrative team. We are very glad we found this company and will for sure be calling on them for our future needs.

One Big Man and One Big Truck are excellent, there is a clear reason their ratings are so good. I used them because a coworker recommended them and I am very glad that they did. They were clear and communicative ahead of time and on time and efficient on the moving day. They bring additional supplies and their own tools to handle your furniture disassembly and reassembly needs. Extremely convenient to not have to dismantle everything ahead of time.
They bill in 15 min increments so you get the most for your money, and their rates are super reasonable, especially when they're so quick.
