San Marino Elementary... I have the fondest memories from here as a little girl. I loved all of my teachers and still am able to remember them all with a lot of love. Mrs. Emery-Young, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Steves, Ms. Kraus, and Mr. Ogawa. They were all teachers who made a big impact in my life and helped give me confidence I needed to keep succeeding in middle school, high school, and now college.
I know you are just a kid while you're in elementary school and probably most don't even remember those days but I remember everything. Every grade was a great year here and teachers always made sure to keep you motivated with school and everything that you do. I clearly remember 6th grade being the best year because Mr. Ogawa was the coolest 6th grade teacher and made sure all his students were motivated to do well each month :) I also remember 6th grade camp being an awesome and life changing time as a kid.
I am now entering my 4th year as a college student and still always remember the great memories, confidence, and encouragement I always received here and will always carry around with me through life :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - C G.Anaheim, CA022Sep 20, 2023
Told me my son was autistic since he was not very fond of school (crying every mornings type deal) and wasn't making friends. We moved him to Holder school and he has excelled tremendously and doesn't cry at drop off. The difference between schools is day and night, my son is much happier at Holder.
-School therapist at this school does NOT believe he is autistic just wasn't in the right learning environment.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liara H.Irvine, CA011Feb 5, 2023Updated review

This school is not safe. My kid was in his class and some other kid had covid-19 and nor the teacher nor the Principal never reported to no parent. The principal Dr. Lee kept her mouth shut about it. Also since my son was attending school here he was always sad, angry. Very few times happy. The teachers were very unstable, they gave a high turnover, the teacher are bullies, and the principal at this moment her case us pending at the District attorney office for assualt and battery. There so called teacher aides for special education need more training. They are aggressive, and pushy with the disable students. If you have special child, that needs special education look for another school. These people at this school are cruel , and don't give a dam about special education students.

Moni g review is on point. I dislike the school, principal, teachers, and everything about it. You can't sit in the cafeteria with your kids during breakfast, you can't go in the school with them
In the morning, you can't have lunch with them, you can't do anything with YOUR child. I feel the kids are in prison! I really hate this school and everything about it. I literally moved here a few months ago and now I'm going to move again just to get out of this hell hole! Any LBUSD school is better than this school.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cheryl R.Buena Park, CA5021Nov 26, 2018
San Marino has the most caring teacher When it comes to kids that have special needs autism they take time to work with them and not against them most kids have problems but you don't toss them out like Raymond Temple Elementary School you work with them and understand what type of Work ethic they need

We just moved into the area and it's been a couple of weeks since school started. I haven't talked to my son's teacher, classmates or classmates parents, since they don't allow you to step into the school and even walk your child to his classroom; you have to stay behind the blue line. How are we supposed to interact and even participate in the classroom??? I guess NOW I miss our old school where I felt at home not in a penitentiary. :(
