They have some pretty dumb rules. My daughter suffers from dysmenorrhea. So she's absent often. They're not letting her go to prom because I didn't call the school to excuse her. The tickets, dress and everything has already been purchased! Why should my daughter be punished for something I did!

Dear villa you need some real mentoring because the way you taught was something else and you need to improve in a lot of ways.

The only good thing about this school are the friendly security and the few teachers that care about your child as a human being. This school does NOT put your child first. They will not do anything if it's even SLIGHTLY difficult for them. The councilors feel like they don't really care about you. This school preaches about mental health and opened a "Rebel Relaxation Room" but the reason they need a relaxation room is because they are literally lowering your child's mental health day by day. If you want your child to have a good education and have classes that align with their future career I recommend John F. Kennedy HS or literally any other school because the councilors would rather nitpick everything wrong about you and your child than change your schedule even if you experience bullying, wrong career paths, bad treatment from teachers, etc. Bathrooms are dirty and 1 or 2 are always out of order. Mr. Pooley is a sweet, caring principal but the other two seem to dislike teenagers completely and will freak if a teen makes a mistake like teenagers usually do. If you don't care about your child's mental health, education, and physical health; Send them to Savanna High School! Home of the Rebels!!!

School feels and looks like a jail. Staff aren't helpful. SOME great teachers here but the atmosphere isn't welcoming.

the entire staff is bias towards the students there is no point to reporting an issue if no justice is ever given because the issue is regarding staff, they know that youll be gone in less than 4 years but the staff will stay so their opinion matters more than ours no matter how many times the school or counselors or principals say they arent bias and will try to blah blah blah this and that its all bs meant to comfort u and make u think theyre on ur side when in reality they couldnt care less about ur feelings, u try to bring a mental health issue to their awareness and they absolutely suck at this. the only times theyve shown that they "care" about mental health would be when there were recent events of suicide in other schools

How else am I supposed to rate my Alma Mater???

Even though you took the lockers out, starting with the graduating class of 1997's first year at Savanna, You are still tops in my book... Well. Most of you.

      Favorites Include:

      - Mr. Jawor
      - Ms. Beardsley-Mull
      - Ms. Walton
      - Mr. Shore
      - Mr. Heymers (even though you gave me a D)
      - Mr. Davies
      - Ms. Weihardt
      - Mr. Bell
      - Ms. Villafuerte
      - Ms. Tenney

Are any of these teachers still there? Great times and good stuff learned. I wreaked absolute havoc through the entire school, and no teacher was safe. I locked teachers in the faculty bathrooms, brought knives to class and ran the perimeter of the classroom, cutting posters in half, and would clap two chalk-dusters together over teachers' heads in order to mimic dandruff...

Couple that along with forging tons of re-admit slips, leaving campus at my leisure in order to go shopping at Ralphs and go to Taco Bell, bringing universal remotes to class in order to turn the TV's on and off at my own leisure, and well... you get the picture... though I did take the time to study & learn... adopting the philosophy I now have: work hard, play harder.

Thanks for the good times, Savanna. Rest in peace Mr. Quigley.

Honorable mention goes to Thursdays in the quad with the DJ's playing songs that were not made for high school kids, Rebel Show (annual talent show), and the afterschool fights at the AM/PM next door - which is now closed.

I hope I don't drive by Savanna in a couple years and bear witness to yet another school that looks like a Federal SuperMax Penitentiary.

This school is a bit congested when I went to pick up a student that was joining the military. The school was pleasant to be at, the teachers need to be a bit more involved but for the most part the campus was a positive place to learn. I'm not bias in any way, I didn't go to the school in its supposed glory days. From what I can see from being a recruiter within the school who goes to the events, participates in the clubs, and visits the school regularly, the school to me is a great public school. The students need better facilities but like I said. a positive place to learn.

This is the most amazing school 10/10 recommended. My Aunt (Mrs. Moreno) teaches the Spanish class and always talks about the programs, benefits, trips, and celebrations they have at the school. And how it over all is a great environment. What I mean about the trips is that every year they go to a different country and visit different monuments. And by celebration is they have celebrations for Mexican traditions and I've gone to a few and they are really cool and beautiful. Don't listen to the other nonsense of the people who give this school a low rating ( they're just hating), because I know the real tea sis I mean my aunt teaches there, so u should definitely go. I said what I said and meant what I said.
