Our restaurant has a unique homelike feeling. You can sign our walls and leave your mark in our main dining area. We have been told that we have the best Philly in town! We also have the original Leland Recipe for our cheese sauce ! Our restaurant is a historic landmark by Lincoln's home so the feeling is wonderful all around.…

The Springfield Carriage restaurant is a good solution for breakfast or lunch while visiting the historic Lincoln home.

The restaurant used to be a house, so the inside isn't huge, but it still has plenty of seating. The 1st floor dining room can accommodate about 20 patrons, and there's ample room upstairs for larger parties, including a charming outdoor balcony with a ceiling fan.

Classic music played in the background at an appropriate volume, and as one might expect, the decor is Lincoln themed. Though an older establishment, it was pretty clean and well-kept. We went for breakfast on a Monday morning, and it was uncrowded. The service was friendly and attentive.

      I was pleased overall!

      Leaving Springfield with a bang.

We had a great brunch experience. Perfect weather to dine Al fresco on the first-floor porch.

The service was fantastic. Karen and Nathan N were super attentive, funny, friendly, welcoming, and professional.

The food was delicious. My son and I had eggs benedict, the hollandaise sauce was the right balance of creamy, light, and buttery.
One of our teens had The Cowboy, a great combination of meats and cheeses. The other teen had the strawberry stuffed french toast, a delicious not too sweet treat. Also delicious were The Poneyshoe, and a stack of pancakes.

The adults share 2 flights of mimosas, light, cocktails on this beautiful late morning.

When I Springfield do not miss this place, totally worth the stop

Both a very cool historic place and great food! Showed up for brunch with a group of 10 and they took amazing care of my family! We sat on the upper balcony and watched people walk down Abe Lincoln's street while enjoying a breakfast that looked like it should be on the cover of a magazine. So perfect!

My family went there on 8/19/24 for lunch
The waiter never ask us if we wanted a refill on our drinks, my wife ordered a chicken bacon ranch wrap and there was no ranch on it and was very dry,
My daughter ordered the eggs Benedict and it was made wrong too, my son had build your own breakfast sandwich and it took was made wrong,
I had the French dip that was the only thing that was made right. When I told the guy at the country that our food was made wrong he said not my problem I will get your server..paid $75 dollars for food that was totally wrong and piss poor serves would not recommend this place to anyone

Under new ownership. Pony shoe was great, house cut fries, sauce with a little kick. Breakfast shoe had crispy hash browns. They were doing a good business. Friendly service.

We stopped into this hidden gem for dinner while in town for a conference. It was an absolute delight.
Everyone in my group enjoyed their meal - from steak to salmon to chicken. I had the shrimp scampi which had a flavorful sauce and fresh shredded Parmesan. The shrimp was plump and tender. And unlike other restaurants where I've had shrimp scampi the tails were removed making for a pleasant dining experience.
One of my dinner companions had the sweet potato fries with the fluff dipping sauce and it was AWESOME and DELICIOUS!
Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable.

The food was delicious and I sampled a bit from my groups offerings too! Our waitress was very pleasant and knowledgable which is always a bonus. I would easily return again but I do want to spotlight two small negatives.

The restaurant is tony and on hot weather days you can feel the warmth inside; surely during fall and spring sitting outdoors is the go-to option. Finally, I know pricing is up everywhere but when I compare the cost here to the same type of cuisine in the Spfld area it was a tad high for my liking.

All in all, great little spot to check out while visiting the Lincoln sites!

Great service delicious pecan pancakes. Hot coffee. In the Lincoln home vicinity.

They have a ramp entrance for wheel chairs but drive to it is dangerous. My helper strained her back. So if you have trouble with steps choose another place!

First and last time to dine here.

While the concept of this restaurant in an old house could be brilliant; it is not because of the service and very poor quality of food.

When we got there at 5 pm we were given a menu. We saw online that they had different dinner items so I asked if they had steak and she said, oh yes do you want a dinner menu? It was 5 pm.

3 of us had ribeyes--not good quality and cold when served.

One had horseshoe and said it was good.

Other had shrimp scampi pasta and couldn't eat it as it was do oily.

We arrived at a little before 5 pm but didn't leave until 7 pm due to short staffing.

It was not a good experience.

We just love this quaint little place with ample indoor & outdoor seating. Friendly local service and fresh, flavorful food. The hollandaise on the eggs benedict was home made and delicious. I could have that every day! No elevator to second floor.

I have never been to a place like this and was reluctant at the beginning but what kept me going was the amazing service of the owner and everyone in the kitchen. We all felt welcomed and comfortable. The food was delicious! I had eggs with their local ham and can't complaint. Everyone needs to visit this beautiful and family own restaurant.
Thank you so much to Springfield Carriage for a great service and excellent food.
