Wow great food great service! They have a variety of salsas to pick from. We ordered a little bit of everything. Cochinita taco, street style, Tijuana style, and Baja fish tacos.
Everything was great. Personally my favorite was the street style, and my roommate said hers were the Baja fish tacos.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 2, 2024
We attend during the opening and I wish I could say this place was good. But it feels just okay if you are in a pinch and in the area. Although, I would probably end up down the street.
I would not say it was anything memorable unfortunately. Most felt very bland and lack luster. I know they provide a bar, so it might just be a good place to grab a drink and food but I will probably pass.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 30, 2024
A very cute neighborhood spot to enjoy fresh and delicious tacos, quesabirrias, and music with friendly staff.
The meat was a bit fatty for my taste, so that's why this spot warrants 4 stars from me, but I know that's a plus for some folks!
Yummy variety of salsas so don't forget to check them out if you're dining in.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Justice K.San Francisco, CAJun 6, 2024
I'm not going to waste my time going into depth with this review. The food is subpar & over priced. Portions are small. Spent $50+ here for a party of two. I can't recommend a single dish I tried. Maybe, it's the Los Angeles native in me; perhaps I'm just accustomed to better tasting Mexican food. This place just didn't do it for me in any regard. If you see this place, keep walking & patronize another Mexican spot, or go home. To add insult to injury, the service is terrible too. Specifically, the woman at the register. Lazy as all hell.
Personally, I can overlook subpar to poor service for excellent food. However, a restaurant with terrible service with bland, under-seasoned food will never warrant a visit from me again.
Hopefully they go out of business & something better comes along!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 3 - Aug 18, 2024
It's good, but nothing special. I got a birria plate and my girlfriend got fish tacos. The quesabirria plate had 3 mulitas, so it was quite a bit more food than the menu suggested, claiming 3 tacos, so the price-to-portion ratio is just a little worse than the Mission taquerias. I'd give the quesabirria alone 3 stars, since they didn't pull off the rich, strong flavors with the soup I hope for after getting it in Tijuana. They did a better job on the tangy salsas, the homemade tortillas, and the fish. Not sure if I'll go back.

It's a good brick-and-mortar with quality tacos that was likely more impressive as a food truck, but in the shop, it's just a little off. Counter service is fast, and meats are cooked to order. The shop itself is cute, if a little grimy (maybe wipe the tables down?) There's a lot of good Mexican food in the city. This is an above average spot.

This is my favorite taco place in SF right now. The Tijuana style taco was a fresh home-made tortilla that's thicker than your average tortilla but it was soft and pillowy. The al pastor was crispy on the outside but the meat was still juicy and tender. Loved their use of sweet corn in their avocado that added the perfect hint of sweetness. Very well executed on all fronts, whether taste or textures. Get the red sauce.

The Baja fish tacos here are excellent, worth coming back for. The carne asada tacos were good too, not notably better than others I've had in SF, but they had a good smokiness to them and the meat was tender. The other items I found skippable. The birria taco was mediocre, especially in comparison to the fish or carne asada tacos. The guacamole with pork belly was a miss, I found the guacamole too citrusy and the pork belly is super deep fried / rock hard and it was really hard to even eat it.

Was pretty excited to try given all the rave reviews but it was a bit of a letdown. The first thing I noticed was that prices were pretty high. It's $6 for a single birria taco, but I have had better more sizable birria tacos for less elsewhere in the mission.
Additionally, there birria tacos are flat like a tostada, which kind of makes it impossible to dip into the consommé without everything spilling out and making a huge mess. Taste-wise, pretty good. The Baja fish taco was my favorite, but again very saucy and messy to eat.
I'm glad I tried but not a go-to spot in my opinion.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 23, 2024
Maybe I went in with my expectations too high...
Here's what I got (in order of taste):
- chips & guac
- birria taco
- carne asada taco
- fish taco
- al pastor taco
I really liked the chips & guac, birria taco and somewhat liked the carne asada taco, but thought all the tacos were a bit too oily for my taste.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
