Aditi’s 5-star review:
Oh my God this is a top notch vegetarian restaurant - a vegetarian paradise - probably the best you can find in San Francisco or even in the Bay Area. Every item we tried on the menu was amazing!!!
Spanako pizza - I think the pizza was outstanding - it was superflavorful - it had flavors i can't explain, never had a better veggie pizza. Best thing on the menu.
Garlic chive and nettle bao - We also ordered two Bao(s) which had garlic chive and tofu filling - it literally tasted like some sort of cottage cheese/paneer masala kulcha - highly recommend ordering this too.
Kibbeh griddle cakes - small portion size - shareable, good texture and flavorful. Unique.
Grilled tofu and baby carrots - my second favorite dish on the menu. I was a bit apprehensive about getting carrots as a dish but it was served with quinoa and grilled tofu - it was served with a gravy and the whole concoction was amazing - I really enjoyed the flavors of the mixture, super healthy and super yummy. I wish I could get their recipe and make this at home every day.
The pea hummus and pita - great, like Orens hummus
Camaroni Pasta - My least favorite thing we ordered that night - I didn't really like it that much maybe because I'm not a fan of white sauce pasta and it was a bit bland for my taste.
Greens is a perfect place to go for a birthday dinner - I would definitely go back there again because it is a fab vegetarian restaurant with great views of the Golden Gate bridge if you reserve a table inside. They also have an outdoor seating area with heat lamps.
I would definitely recommend this place even if it is a bit pricey - I'd also suggest go family-style if you want to try a lot of different things - all the dishes we tried except the pasta were amazing.
