大卫·格雷伯

美國人類學家

大卫·格雷伯（英語：David Graeber，1961年2月12日—2020年9月2日），美国人类学家，无政府主义活动家。倫敦政治經濟學院教授[1]。以对官僚主义、政治和资本主义的尖锐描写而闻名[2]。

他的父母是工人阶级出身的知识分子[3]，且都是犹太人[4]。他的母亲露丝·鲁宾斯坦曾是一名制衣工人，1930年代活跃于国际妇女服装工人工会，并在音乐剧中扮演主要角色[3][5]。他的父亲肯尼斯早年加入美国青年共产主义联盟，参加了1936年巴塞罗那的西班牙革命和内战。1939年苏德签订互不侵犯条约前便退出了青年联盟[6]。

大卫·格雷伯于1978年毕业于菲利普斯学院，1984年获纽约州立大学帕切斯分校文学学士学位。少年時期曾經熱衷鑽研瑪雅文而獲得哈佛大學的獎助邀請，但格雷伯選擇前往芝加哥大学深造，期间获得富布赖特奖学金，在马达加斯加贝塔富进行了为期20个月的民族誌研究和田野調查[7]。1996年获博士学位，其博士论文《1987年的灾难：马达加斯加农村地区的记忆与暴行》，导师为馬歇爾·薩林斯[8][9]。

1998年，受聘为耶鲁大学助教授，随后升任副教授[8]。2005年5月，在他即将获得终身教职的前一年，耶鲁大学人类学系决定不与他续约。格雷伯指责这是由于政治立场原因。有4500多名同事和学生在支持他的请愿书上签名[8]。2005年12月，他同意在接受一年的带薪休假后离开耶鲁大学。2006年春，他教了最后两门课程“文化人类学导论”（有200多名学生参加）和“直接行动和激进社会理论”研讨会。2008年至2013年，他在倫敦大學金匠學院任教。2013年，他接受了伦敦政治经济学院的教授职位[10]。

20世纪90年代后期，他开始积极参与政治活动。他是2011年佔領華爾街运动的关键人物之一。2011年11月，《滾石》杂志称赞格雷伯为占领华尔街运动提供了主题“我們就是那99%的人”。但是格雷伯却说，这个口号“是大家集体创造的”[11]。2011年8月2日，他参与召集第一届纽约市大会，当时仅有60名参与者。随后，他参加工作组会议以及组织有关非暴力抵抗的法律和医学培训班。他曾在祖科蒂公园扎营数天，后离开纽约市前往得克萨斯州奥斯汀[3]。

2019年10月11日，格雷伯在伦敦特拉法加廣場的反抗滅絕活动中发表讲话，谈到“狗屁工作”与环境损害之间的关系[12]。

2019年，他与妮卡·杜布罗夫斯基（Nika Dubrovsky）结婚[13]。2020年9月2日他在意大利威尼斯与妻子和朋友一起度假时，因急性胰腺炎在当地的一家医院去世，享年59岁[14]。他在生前的最后一刻，依然像往常一样活跃于Twitter[15]。
