Kintsugi(金継ぎ,“金繼”),也稱為 kintsukuroi(金繕い,“使用黃金的修補工藝”)。[1]
Kintsugi 是由兩個詞組成的詞語。 Kin 是金子,而 tsugi 是固定或連接的意思。在日文中,Tsugi 是動詞 tsugu 的名詞形式,有 "修補" 和 "繼承" 兩種意思。
金繼此種工藝使用數種漆(如生漆,黑漆,弁柄漆等),或將漆與金粉,銀粉,或白金粉混合以修補破損陶器的日本技藝,是類似於「蒔繪」技藝的方法。[2][3][4] 作為一種哲學,金繼將破損和修補視為物件歷史的一部分,而非掩飾。[5]
