Alcobendas is a town in the Community of Madrid region of Spain.

Understand

[edit]

Once a modest industrial town in Madrid's north, Alcobendas has undergone tremendous transformations since the 1980s and has now become the leading commercial and transportation node for the northern suburbs of Madrid.

Get in

[edit]

Metro (Underground)

[edit]

Alcobendas presently has four Metro stations (La Granja, La Moraleja, Marqués de la Valdavia and Manuel de Falla) which are all on line  10  of the Madrid Metro network.

These stations are in Madrid travel zone B1. So you either need a Billeto Combinado (all Madrid Metro zones) or a single MetroNorte ticket as an extension to the standard metrobus for each journey beyond La Granja. Tourist tickets for zone T are also valid here. If coming from Madrid you will change trains at Tres Olivos.

Cercanías Train

[edit]

Alcobendas also has two suburban railway stations (one shared with San Sebastián de los Reyes):

  • Valdelasfuentes and
  • Alcobendas-San Sebastián de los Reyes.

Both form part of the C-4a Cercanías line and can get directly to Madrid Chamartín Clara Campoamor & Sol but you will need to change trains to get to Atocha.
