Cullison earned her B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Maryland College Park in 1976 and her M.A. in Speech Pathology from the University of Maryland College Park in 1978. Her professional experience includes working as a Field Liaison for the National Education Association Foundation, speech pathologist, and a special education teacher.

Elections for the Maryland House of Delegates took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 24, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 25, 2014. Marice I. Morales and incumbents Bonnie Cullison and Ben Kramer defeated Paul Bardack, Melodye A. Berry and Charlotte Crutchfield in the Democratic primary. Martha Schaerr was unopposed in the Republican primary. Cullison, Kramer and Morales defeated Schaerr for three seats in the general election.[1][2][3]

Cullison ran against Sam Arora (D), Hoan Dang (D), Jay Hutchins (D), Vivian Scretchen (D), and an incumbent Benjamin Kramer (D) in the September 14 primary. She came in second.

Cullison won the third of three seats in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4]
