Personal
Hood earned his B.A. in political science and history from Mississippi State University, and law degree from the Mississippi College School of Law. His professional experience includes working as an attorney in private practice in Ackerman, a staffer for former U.S. Senator Trent Lott (R-MS), and a clerk for the Mississippi Court of Appeals.[1]

Elections for the Mississippi House of Representatives took place in 2015. A primary election was held on August 4, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[2] Patrick Warner was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Joey Hood defeated Brian Sims in the Republican primary. Hood defeated Warner in the general election.
