Campaign website

Thran's campaign website stated the following:

Advance Affordable Healthcare

As a physician, I believe that everyone has the right to affordable and accessible care. That is why I am committed to advancing healthcare reform that lowers the costs of care and invests in rural communities and removes barriers to accessing both primary care and specialists.

I believe strongly that we need to support primary care and preventative medicine as well as supporting alternative healthcare providers.

COVID-19 has taken a toll on healthcare and exposed how unhealthy our healthcare system is. I want to heal healthcare.

I will rely on science to guide healthcare policy and address the challenges of the epidemic. This includes supporting free testing, immunizations and healthcare-grade masks available to the public.

I will work to address the national workforce shortage by supporting legislation that allows for a national reciprocity between states and territories for all healthcare providers.

I will continue to work for a national healthcare plan.

I do not advocate for abolishing private healthcare insurers, but I will push back on insurers profiting unfairly from the sick and injured.

Build Thriving Communities

I believe we need to invest in creative, viable solutions that promote livable wages, job growth, rural infrastructure development, and racial, gender & environmental equity across Vermont.

In addition to national healthcare, I support paid family leave, support for primary care specialties and preventative healthcare.

I also support reimbursement for alternative healthcare providers who have not been reimbursed by insurance companies or available in most hospital settings.

According to the website www.whitehouse.gov President Biden's $1 trillion dollar Infrastructure, Investment and Jobs Acts, will over 5 years, provide $1.4 billion dollars in funding for Vermont's roads & bridges, climate change mitigation, resilience, equity, safety for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Additional funding is designated for healthy, sustainable transportation options, including EV charging stations and sustainable public transportation and airports. Funding will improve access to high-speed internet for Vermonters. This sweeping legislation will not only help mitigate the effects of extreme weather events, it will also help strengthen our defenses against cyber-attacks. The money from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Acts, will be used to ensure safe, clean drinking water for every Vermonter.

I would personally like to thank the Vermont Congressional Delegation for fighting for this extremely important legislation.

Tackle Climate Change

As a lifelong environmentalist, I am committed to fighting for progressive policies that invest in renewable energy sources, protecting Vermont's public waters and lands.

I support efforts to promote local resiliency and sustainability. This includes supporting farmers and family owned businesses and small business owners in Vermont and any fellow Vermonter who shares our vision for a sustainable Vermont for our children and grandchildren.

As my first campaign pledge, I pledge to listen and respect the opinion of every fellow Vermonter, even if our opinions differ.

As Vermonters, most of us are fiercely independent and self-reliant by nature, attributes that I admire greatly. We can lead the nation by demonstrating our civility, respect for our neighbors, and how to get along despite differences.

2022 will bring each of us new challenges. Join me now and I am confident we will overcome them together with civility and intelligence.[2]
