Tan Parker (Republican Party) is a member of the Texas State Senate, representing District 12. He assumed office on January 10, 2023. His current term ends on January 14, 2025.

Parker (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the Texas State Senate to represent District 12. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024. He advanced from the Republican primary on March 5, 2024.

Tan Parker was born in Flower Mound, Texas. Parker obtained a B.A. from the University of Dallas and a master's degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.[1] His career experience includes serving as the executive vice president of Tri Vac Limited, as regional vice president for Computer Sciences Corporation's Financial Services Group from 1998 to 2006, and as a White House intern. Parker has served as a member of the Denton County Republican Men's Club, co-founder of the Denton County Young Republicans, and a member of Saint Ann Church.[2]

Elections for all 150 seats in the Texas House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on March 4, 2014. Those candidates who did not receive 50 percent or more of the vote in their party primary on March 4 faced an additional May 27 primary runoff. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in these elections was December 9, 2013. Incumbent Tan Parker was unopposed in the Republican primary. Daniel Moran was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Parker defeated Moran in the general election.[7][8][9]

Parker won re-election in the 2012 election for Texas House of Representatives, District 63. Parker ran unopposed in the May 29 primary election and defeated Bruce Hermann (L) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[10]

2008

On November 4, 2008, Parker won election to the Texas House of Representatives from Texas' 63rd District, defeating Jesus Carrillo (D) and John Turner (L). Parker received 64,048 votes in the election while Carrillo received 19,883 votes, and Turner received 3,831 votes.[10] Parker raised $65,567 for his campaign; Carrillo raised $3,370.[11]
