News: 6 days agoStanley will have knee surgery due to a meniscus issue after suffering a tweak during an off-ice pregame routine Wednesday, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports Friday. Stanley's expected to be out for at least four weeks.

Spin: Stanley had a goal, an assist, 36 PIM, 45 hits and 40 blocks in 25 regular-season outings with Winnipeg in 2023-24. He was in the mix for a third-pairing role for the upcoming campaign. With Ville Heinola (ankle surgery) also sidelined, Dylan Coghlan will likely begin 204-25 with Winnipeg, though he might spend a fair amount of time as a healthy scratch.
