Kinetic facades that are climate responsive can be seen as an extension to passive solar design strategies. This course will discuss what climate responsive facades are and how they work through many examples. The iterative design process for design a kinetic facades using performance driven simulation tools is shared through a project example towards the end of the course.

Good daylighting is integral to green building design. This course details out not only whole building daylight design strategies but also guidelines for fenestration design. Application of these guidelines are especially useful during the early design development stage which helps get the overall building form and design in the right direction ensuring good daylighting.
