Last week, we asked you to guess: What is the angle of inclination our vehicles can handle in the high-bank curve close to our Stuttgart Headquaters? The correct answer is: up to 90 degrees! If the banked curve is driven at the upper edge at speeds of up to 100 km/h, the car can navigate the curve without any steering inputs. This track was built in 1953 and first presented to the public in 1967. #MercedesBenz

Our journey into the future of electric mobility continues. Our new eCampus in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim is the key enabler for understanding and developing advanced battery cells as part of our sustainable business strategy ‘Ambition 2039’. - On more than 30,000 sqm, with scientists, engineers and production experts. - Investment of several hundred-million euros includes carefully controlled labs, where our scientists research advanced cell chemistries. - Several tens of thousands of cells can be produced here every year for the development of future battery generations. - More than 75% of the usable roof area of the new eCampus building will be equipped with photovoltaic systems to power batteries and test beds. Our goal is to close the battery loop. Using our 'Design for Environment' approach, specialists can consider environmental impact and recyclability from the very start of the development process through production, usage in our electric vehicle fleet to end-of-life. Against a backdrop of 120 years of powertrain development in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim, this marks the next important step into the electric era. Tomorrow drives Mercedes-Benz. #MercedesBenz #circularity #eMobility

Experience even more seating comfort in the EQS. The optional Rear Comfort Package Plus comes with executive seats that have a special slanted footrest on the right side of the rear compartment. Located between the rails of the front seat, this footrest noticeably enhances comfort for the rear passenger because he or she can place his or her feet at an angle. The passenger seat can also be folded forward and the backrest in the rear can be adjusted up to 38 degrees, creating more space. This latest detail is another, but by no means the only, convenience of the Rear Comfort Package Plus. The optional equipment also includes seat heating Plus and neck and shoulder heating in the rear, as well as pneumatic seat depth adjustment. Read more: mb4.me/The-EQS-Update #MercedesBenz #EQS

We reached a major milestone when we celebrated the opening of our eCampus in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim. This new development competence centre at the very heart of our company headquarters is where we will develop future generations of battery cells and advanced batteries that will drive our electric vehicles. Making the battery part of the circular economy is central to our sustainable business strategy ‘Ambition 2039’. To fully embrace #circularity, we will design all aspects of the battery to be more sustainable across the entire battery ecosystem. By focusing our expertise in this specially designed facility, we are opening up whole new opportunities for collaboration and #innovation. Crucially – that includes the aim to close the battery loop. Our forthcoming battery recycling plant in Kuppenheim holds the key with its innovative process. We’ll bring you more on that soon. First, the eCampus is a major step towards making our vision reality as we continue to drive the #transformation. Tomorrow drives Mercedes-Benz. #MercedesBenz #emobility #circularity

Did you know that the first automobile race from Paris to Rouen on 22 July 1894 was won by vehicles whose engines were manufactured under Daimler licence? The vehicles by Peugeot and Panhard & Levassor were powered by a two-cylinder V-engine developed by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in 1888. Mobility pioneer Gottlieb Daimler and his son Paul were among the attendees and spectators of this automobile race from Paris to Rouen on 22 July 1894. Twenty years later, Paul Daimler recalled this event, which was also characterised by the competition between different drive technologies: “It was an absolutely unforgettable sight that will stay with me throughout my life”. For 120 years, Stuttgart-Untertürkheim has been the beating heart of Mercedes-Benz powertrain. The success story continues into the electric age with our Mercedes-Benz eCampus. This new, state-of-the-art competence centre for development of cells and batteries is where our scientists and engineers will develop future generations of advanced #batteries and battery cells for our growing portfolio of electric vehicles. We laid the foundation stone on May 31, 2022 and we are continuously advancing the construction site. Conducting battery cell R&D in-house is an important part of our sustainable business strategy and central to our 'Design for Environment' approach. This is how we drive battery #circularity from the very start. The cells inside the battery hold the key to efficiency, energy density and resource conservation. With innovative new chemistries, we can squeeze even more power into smaller, lighter packages using fewer resources. This is how we plan to make our batteries of the future more sustainable. At the eCampus, we will ultimately research, develop and build battery cells as well as test cells, modules and new battery generations. Only this way, can we maximise efficiency and ensure as many materials as possible stay “in the loop”. This is how we are driving electric mobility through #innovation. Welcome to the future. Tomorrow drives Mercedes-Benz. #MercedesBenz #circularity #emobility
