Delhi: How vehicle owners can avoid facing jail time
Vehicle owners in Delhi may now face jail or fine if they don't update to new number plates. The last date to upgrade is October 13th as per the transport department. The crackdown is expected to reduce the menace of Illegal number plates. The directive comes after the SC has asked all the states to install high security plates in 2012. Estimated 40 lakh vehicles do not have the tamper proof number plates.
