A case has been filed against Janata Dal (Secular) MLC Suraj Revanna, son of HD Revanna, for alleged sexual assault. The complainant, a party worker, accused Suraj of assaulting him at his farmhouse on June 16. The FIR includes charges of voluntary carnal intercourse against the order of nature, wrongful confinement, and criminal intimidation. The complainant alleged threats and bribery attempts from Suraj's close aide. This follows the arrest of Suraj's brother, Prajwal Revanna, for separate sexual assault allegations during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

India and Bangladesh have reaffirmed their commitment to a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region. They will co-lead the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management pillar of the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI). The joint statement from Prime Ministers Modi and Hasina emphasized cooperation on disaster resilience, climate impact mitigation, and regional integration under BIMSTEC, SAARC, and IORA. They plan to enhance trade, investment, and connectivity, negotiate a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and strengthen defense ties.
