    Torrent Power launches EV charging stations

    Electric utility Torrent Power has ventured into electric mobility infrastructure by launching four EV charging stations in Ahmedabad and two in Surat. The company is collaborating with Siemens to develop the charging network, which will provide affordable, accessible, and convenient charging facilities for users in a bid to promote the widespread adoption of electric vehicles.

    Electric utility Torrent Power Ltd. (TPL) has forayed into the electric mobility infrastructure sector to set up EV charging stations. The company has set up four EV charging stations in Ahmedabad and two more are likely to be launched in Surat, the company said today.

    "This is a major step towards a greener, cleaner and more sustainable future for the citizens of Ahmedabad and Surat. Electric vehicles emit zero pollutants and have the potential to significantly reduce emissions and improve air quality in our cities," the company said in a press statement.

By providing a reliable and extensive charging network, Torrent hopes to alleviate range anxiety and promote the widespread adoption of electric vehicles.”

    The Company has collaborated with Siemens for developing the EV Charging network. TPL has installed three 60KW DC Fast chargers in Ahmedabad. Each charger can charge 2 vehicles simultaneously. Apart from this, a 22 kW AC chargers have also been set up at Raipur, in Ahmedabad. Location details are available in Torrent Power Customer Portal and on statiQ App.

    With a view to provide affordable fast charging facility for the citizens of Ahmedabad, the company is currently offering charging facility @Rs 12 per unit which is amongst the lowest in the city. An additional discount of 20% on first charge has also been announced by the Company for a limited period, the company said.
